BTS Participates in Japanese Drama OST "Spiral Labyrinth"

BTS has never failed to share love to the ARMY, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. After the new program “Learn Korean with BTS” and their online performance on James Corden’s Homefest: Late Late Show Special, now they come up with their new OST for a Japanese drama, “Spiral Labyrinth – DNA Forensic Investigation”.

On March 26, Billboard Japan reported that one of the tracks from BTS upcoming album has been selected as OST for the new Japanese drama, “Spiral Labyrinth – DNA Forensic Investigation”. Netizens have been talking about this news on social media since then.

The title of the OST for the new Japanese drama is Stay Gold. It will be part of BTS’s new album which is scheduled to be released this summer.

BTS stated, “We are glad to be able to participate in the theme song of the drama Spiral Labyrinth. We hope many people will look forward to the song with love and interest. Please look forward to Spiral Labyrinth and Stay Gold.”

Tanaka Kei, the lead actor of Spiral Labyrinth, said, “It was a really cool song, it really left an impression on my ears and heart, and I was shocked. I really like this song. If you listen carefully, it’s a medium number. Whether the drama will be a medium number as well, I don’t know yet, but I think that the combination of seemingly different things will build toward a new climax. Like the song says, I will work hard as a cast member to make the drama ‘Stay Gold.’ Also, because BTS is popular with the people around me, I will remind everyone to watch the drama.”

Spiral Labyrinth – DNA Forensic Investigation talks about a genius genetic scientist, who is hired to investigate a mysterious murder case. The story is based on a manga of the same title or Rasen no Meikyū (Japanese) released in 2012.

This Japanese drama will premiere on April 24 on TV Tokyo. So Army will hear BTS song Stay Gold in less than a month, before the new album drops!

BTS V “Sweet Night”

Not long ago, one of BTS members, V, also sang an OST for a K-drama Itaewon Class. BTS V self-produced the song which then entitled Sweet Night. Itscores number 2 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart for the week ending in March 28. According to Nielsen Music and reported by Forbes, Sweet Night has sold over 11,000 copies in its first tracking frame.

BTS First OST in 2018

Back in 2018, BTS released their first OST for the Japanese remake of Signal. The single, “Don’t Leave Me”, is a hip hop track with EDM vibes. It is in BTS’s third Japanese album, Face Yourself. Meanwhile, Signal is originated from a Korean drama. The story was based on a true story of 10 murders happened in South Korea in the late 80s.

RM uttered that that was their first time singing a drama theme song and honored to participate in the theme song for a drama that has been successful in Korea.
