The 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) has revealed this year’s nominees. They also changed several criteria for the 2021 MAMA winners. Let’s check out who the 2021 MAMA nominees are and the changes to decide the winner.

2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) Nominees and Several Changes You Should Know

This year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will take place on December 11, 2021, at 6 PM KST. Before the main award ceremony, they will start the red carpet at 4 PM KST. However, the planned schedule can change due to various factors.

The 2021 MAMA Changes on Winners Criteria

Unlike the previous years, MAMA will not include fans votes as one of the criteria for determining winners of Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year awards. However, some categories will be determined entirely through fans votes.

The new criteria for the 2021 MAMA final winners are:

Artist of the Year and Artist Category Awards

40% judges’ evaluation
20% digital performance
20% physical album sales
10% music video
10% global music platform

Song of the Year and Song Genre Category Awards

40% judges’ evaluation
30% digital performance
10% physical album sales

How to vote on the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)

The vote itself is divided into pre-vote and vote periods. The pre-vote starts on November 4 at 6 PM KST and ends on November 22 at 4.59 PM KST. Meanwhile, the voting begins on November 25 at 6 PM KST and ends on December 9 at 4.59 PM KST.

1. You can vote on MAMA official website: https://mama.mwave.me/en/main

2. You have to log in to be able to vote. You can log in using one of your SNS accounts.

3. After logging in, you can vote for your favorite artists. You are allowed to vote for 5 artists.

4. Click submit, and make sure you watch the video until the end to make your vote complete.

5. After submitting, remember to share to your SNS and let other fans know.

Other than giving a vote on the official website, you can also vote by listening to the music of your favorite artists on the Apple Music page 2021 MAMA playlist.

Furthermore, if you vote daily, you’ll get a chance to get a small prize. The prize from 2021 MAMA is only for 10 voters who complete the final submission every day for each voting period.

Only tweets with both the official hashtag for 2021 MAMA Twitter voting (#MAMAVOTE) and the artist’s official voting hashtag listed under the Worldwide Fans’ Choice TOP 10 nominees’ photos on the 2021 MAMA official website will count as valid votes (#MAMAVOTE #artisthashtag).
