One of the most popular actors in South Korea, Gong Yoo, finally launched his official Instagram account on December 1.
Gong Yoo Launches Official Instagram Account Following His Debut 20th Anniversary
On December 1, Management Soop, the agency of the actor, announced that they had opened an official Instagram account of Gong Yoo with the name _gongyoo_official_
Now, besides Gong Yoo’s vlogs on Management SOOP Official YouTube Channel, fans will have more updates about the actor’s daily activities through his Instagram account. The agency also stated that the actor has no other social media.
After seven hours of launching the account, he already gained about 752 thousand followers, while on December 2, he has gained 1.5 million followers. One of the followers is Miss A’s Suzy, who is under the same agency.
He posted a squid on the first post, reminding us of the Kdrama “Squid Game.” Earlier, Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo created their Instagram account after “Squid Game” premiered.
The popularity of Netflix’s original Korean drama series has also boosted other Squid Game cast members’ Instagram accounts’ followers.

Gong Yoo’s Debut 20th Anniversary
Gong Ji Chul, known for his stage name Gong Yoo, started his career in the entertainment field as a VJ on Mnet. He then made an acting debut as a supporting actor in Kdrama “School 4” in 2001.
Gong Yoo is one of the South Korean actors that has impressive acting skills. It’s shown from the roles he took from various series and movies. Some of his famous Kdrama series and films are Coffee Prince, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin), Silenced, Kim Ji Young Born 1982, Train To Busan, Seo Bok, and more.
For his outstanding skills in acting, he has received many awards such as the SBS New Rising Star Award in 2003, the Popular Star Award of Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2011, Best Actor (Series) in Baeksang Arts Awards 2017, and more.
After years of his career in the filming industry, he became one of the best actors in the world that everyone most anticipated. Even his brief appearance as the Salesman slapper in “Squid Game” has made Kdrama lovers surprised and excited to see him again on screen.
