In 2019, SM Entertainment launched a male supergroup, ‘SuperM,’ consisting of seven members. The super boy group “SuperM’ features the top male idols from boy groups SHINee, EXO, and NCT.
The top male idols in the supergroup ‘SuperM’ are Taemin of SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai of EXO, and Taeyong, Mark, Ten, and Lucas of NCT.
SM Entertainment’s New Girl Group ‘GOT’ Members
On December 27, SM Entertainment has introduced a new girl group with a similar style to ‘SuperM’ but with female formation. The female supergroup is called Girls On Top or GOT, which consists of seven top female idols as members.
On the teaser photo, we can see the Kpop idols from the 1st generation to the 4th generation. As a result, the ‘Girls On Top’ members consist of aespa’s Karina, Red Velvet’s Wendy, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, and aespa’s Winter.
BoA is part of 1st generation of Kpop who debuted in 2000 as a solo idol. She was trained for two years under SM Entertainment and became the first Kpop singer to be highly recognized abroad. With her success and influence in the South Korean music industry, she is dubbed the Queen of Kpop.
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon are part of the 2nd generation of Kpop group that debuted in 2007.
Red Velvet’s Wendy and Seulgi are part of 3rd generation of Kpop group that debuted in 2014 with four members. In 2015, Yeri entered the group, making five members in the group.
aespa’s Karina and Winter are part of the 4th generation of Kpop group that debuted in 2020. The group’s new song “Savage” has swept all Korean charts and hit a Perfect All-Kill.
Girls On Top ‘GOT the Beat’ Special Stage & New Song Release
The new girl group GOT (Girls On Top) by SM Entertainment will hold a special stage, ‘Got the Beat’ on January 1, 2022, and release their new song on January 3 at 6 p.m. KST.
