BLACKPINK member turned idol actress, Kim Jisoo, revealed that she has REFUSED to sing for “Snowdrop” Korean drama OST. Why did you think she did that? Check out the COMPLETE details and reason.
BLACKPINK Jisoo Revealed She Has REFUSED to Sing for “Snowdrop” Korean Drama OST
Despite the huge controversies revolving around the Korean drama, Kim Jisoo of BLACKPINK has managed to give everything he has into her “Snowdrop” character, Eun Young Ro. This proves just how dedicated BLACKPINK Jisoo is for her debut as an actress in the Korean drama, but as an idol, recently she revealed that she has refused to sing for “Snowdrop” OST.
On her recent VLIVE audio, BLACKPINK member Jisoo revealed that “Snowdrop” director Jo Hyun Tak had requested her to sing an OST for the Korean drama. However, she decided to refuse the offer.
The COMPLETE Reason Why Jisoo Refused to Sing for “Snowdrop” Drama OST
Furthermore, during her VLIVE voice, BLACKPINK Jisoo also elaborated the complete reason why she has decided to refuse the director’s request.
According to BLACKPINK Jisoo, if she agreed to sing for the OST, it would be more difficult for the fans and general viewers to focus on the drama. Therefore, she decided not to do it so viewers would see the character Eun Young Ro as herself only. After all, “Snowdrop” is her debut as an actress, and Eun Young Ro is her first character. So, it is no wonder she wants to fully dedicate her effort for the character.
“They asked me to sing for the OST of ‘Snowdrop, but I said ‘no’. That’s because I thought if I lent my voice and it came out as a song, the viewers wouldn’t be able to focus on the drama. I really wanted Young Ro to be known as Young Ro only. And thankfully, the directors then respected my opinion,”

What Song Was Jisoo Supposed to Sing?
Finally, according to various posts circulating on social media, BLACKPINK Jisoo was supposed to sing for the main OST of “Snowdrop” with the title, “Friend”. And today, the song has been out and released with the beautiful voice of singer Kim Hee Won.
Still, we just can’t help but wonder what would happen if Jisoo did accept the offer to sing for “Snowdrop” Korean drama OST? Billboard magazine columnist Jeff Benjamin even mentioned that it would act as a significant lead into her solo project.
This is just a random thought so please don't read into it any more than that but it felt like a real missed opportunity not to have Jisoo record an OST for Snowdrop. Would not only have helped the drama and soundtrack, but act as a great lead into her eventual solo album

BLACKPINK Jisoo Solo Debut is Coming This Year
Indeed, we’re all a little bit disappointed that BLACKPINK Jisoo refused to sing for “Snowdrop” Korean drama OST. However, we can still hope for at least a cover performance of the song during BLACKPINK Jisoo solo debut promotion later. After all, Jisoo herself has hinted that her solo debut will be coming very soon this year.
When a fan asked her if she could expect her solo debut this year, BLACKPINK Jisoo proudly answered, “Oh, of course!”. She also stated that she had chosen one or two of her few solo songs.
