Netflix “Gyeongseong Creature” new drama starring Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee confirmed for Season 2 even before the Season 1 premiere. Do you think this confirmation is good news or simply the opposite? Check out the following details for a complete report.
“Gyeongseong Creature” New Drama Starring Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee Confirms Season 2
Multiple seasons of Korean drama seem to start trending over the last couple of years. While many fans keep their ungranted wish for more stories for old classic Korean dramas, including “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”, the new ones offer a continuation just right after the end season.
Or in “Gyeongseong Creature” drama’s case, even before its Season 1 premiere episode.
On November 3, Star News reported that “Gyeongseong Creature” drama had confirmed its Season 2 production. According to the report, actor Park Seo Joon and actress Han So Hee new drama will start filming early next year.
No Release Date Announced for Season 1
Despite the confident announcement for the 2nd season of the new drama, “Gyeongseong Creature” has yet to announce its Season 1 release date still.
Even though Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, and the whole production team seemed to celebrate wrapping up their filming last week, no release date announcement is available both from Netflix and the production house.
The only update available from “Gyeongseong Creature” drama is that the release date will be in early 2023.
Is it Good or Bad News?
Indeed, some people believe that the early announcement of “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 2 drama marks the confidence and promise of the production team to deliver a masterpiece. And that is especially when the drama involves star-studded cast members such as Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, Wi Ha Joon, Jo Han Chul, and Kim Hae Sook.
Still, is it really good news?
After all, Korean drama differs from other series because it can touch the viewers’ hearts using dramatic scenes, the actors’ intense acting skills, and powerful plot twists. In addition, and most importantly, all the great features are presented in concise, high-quality plots and storylines.
The influence of OTT platforms such as Netflix created a new trend of multiple seasons in Korean dramas. And while some fans love the idea of being able to watch their favorite actors in their favorite scenes, others believe that it will affect the original concept, resulting in a more dragging and unnecessary storyline.
Most importantly, the multiple seasons trend may also erase Korean dramas’ most unique feature and biggest selling point: the ability to wrap up the whole story in a beautiful package within just one season.
I like the idea of having 10-12 episodes but not at the expense of there being multiple seasons. One of the biggest selling points of kdrama has been how it’s able to wrap up a story in just 1 season. https://t.co/KTDGClW4a1

i watched so many us series especially like downton abbey, homeland, prison break, the good wife.. that start off GREAT then the quality just drops and drops as more cast members leave and they struggle to keep things interesting and i never end up finishing..

Another thing that I like about korean drama series eventhough some of them were remake from US series. They manage to make it interesting to watch in one season without making unnecessary multiple seasons which will make the series become boring at the end

As much as I loved #LittleWomen can we please not have KDramas go into the American model of multiple seasons. Kdrama creators forgetting why a huge international audience gravitated towards KDramas – it is because they wrap up the story in one season. https://t.co/4JmMQsp17O
