BTS Jungkook Performed “We Are the Dreamers” Song with Fahad Al-Kubaisi at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony
On November 20, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 held its opening ceremony at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar. With a broken viewership record of approximately 5 billion people worldwide, it is by far one of the largest stage events in the world.
Along with veteran celebrity Morgan Freeman as the host and various spectacular shows, nobody cannot deny that there was one primary and most anticipated performance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony: BTS maknae, Jeon Jungkook.
Following the previous solo stages of his hyungs, J-Hope at the Lollapalooza and Jin at Coldplay’s World Tour, it is time for BTS Jungkook to shine and own the stage.
And he did.
BTS Jungkook came, delivered, and conquered the stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. The BTS maknae performed the 2022 world cup song, “We Are the Dreamers” with Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi, showing an impressive collaboration that crossed the boundaries of languages and musical styles.
An Unexpected Issue During the Stage Performance of “We Are the Dreamers” Song
BTS Jungkook performance of the 2022 FIFA World Cup song, “We Are the Dreamers,” was spectacular and legendary. He emanated a magnificent stage presence with his crystal-clear vocal, powerful dance, and breathtaking aura, owning the stage in front of approximately 60,000 people in the stadium and 5 billion viewers worldwide.
But beyond this splendid show, the BTS no-longer-baby maknae revealed that he had encountered an unexpected issue. And it happened in the middle of BTS Jungkook performance of “We Are the Dreamers” world cup song with Fahad Al-Kubaisi.
What Happened?
Once the opening ceremony concluded, BTS Jungkook started a live broadcast on Weverse to greet his fans. He reviewed his performance together with his fans and conveyed his thoughts and feelings about the show.
BTS Jungkook is known as one of the most talented vocalists worldwide. Many people deemed BTS Jungkook to be born as a singer and performer. His previous collaborator, Charlie Puth—who is famous for his perfect pitch—even admitted that Jungkook was one of the singers that possessed the perfect vocal.
“The only artists who have ever sent me perfect vocals or recorded perfect vocals in front of me are Jungkook, Boyz II Men, and James Taylor.”
Charlie Puth.
The incredible vocal skills of BTS Jungkook was shown majestically and spectacularly during the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. Without us knowing, an unexpected issue happened during BTS Jungkook performance of the world cup song, “We Are the Dreamers”.
Apparently, during the “We Are the Dreamers” song performance, the in-ear monitor BTS Jungkook encountered an unforeseen problem. That is why he couldn’t hear himself sing during the performance. And this resulted in his inability to monitor his vocal throughout the song.
BTS Jungkook revealed the issue during his live broadcast at Weverse and asked the fans what they thought about the performance. He then sighed in relief when fans were showering him with praises.
Jungkook: Was my performance okay? I’ve not done the review yet. I couldn’t hear my voice well through the in-ear monitor compared to how it was during rehearsal. So I couldn’t hear how I sang

BTS Jungkook Wished He Could Do Better at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar Opening Ceremony
In addition to revealing the problem with his in-ear monitor, BTS Jungkook also wished he could do better in his performance of “We Are the Dreamers” song at the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
According to Jungkook, he had very little time to prepare for the performance. He started learning the choreography for “We Are the Dreamers” world cup song once he arrived in Qatar and learned the chorus part the day before the performance. That is why he was not completely satisfied with his own performance.
“I learned the choreography when I came here. As for the chorus part, I learned on the day before.
So, honestly speaking, I don’t think I can say that I can be completely satisfied [with the performance]. But, still, I think it’s good that I could enjoy it and that everything went well.”
BTS Jungkook.
Indeed, BTS Jungkook has always been famous for his hardworking traits and perfectionism.
Never fails to amaze me that it’s been 10 years of Jungkook being active as an artist, yet I can count on 1 hand how many times he’s said he’s satisfied with his performance. His sincerity and humbleness really shows when he tells us he’s not satisfied 😭pic.twitter.com/SIBQlkurPS
