The Glory Korean Drama 2022 Revealed New Details at Press Conference Approaching Release Date
After 2 years of hiatus, prominent screenwriter Kim Eun Sook finally returns with a spectacular masterpiece with star-studded cast members. The Glory Korean drama finally approaches its upcoming 2022 release date with massive excitement from fans of both the writer and the actors.
However, there was a tiny little detail revealed by The Glory production team that may cause fans to hold their patience immensely.
On December 20, The Glory Korean drama held its press conference at the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel in Dongdaemun Square Seoul. During the press conference, Netflix revealed new details Korean drama The Glory starring Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, that may require fans to hold their patience for a while.
Hold Your Patience! The Glory Will Be Released in 2 Parts in Separate Release Date
For the first time after their official release date announcement, Netflix and the production team revealed that The Glory Korean drama will be released in 2 separate parts. This approach was similar to Money Heist: Joint Economic Korea, which was also released in 2 parts.
The Glory director Ahn Gil Ho personally delivered the details, stating that the 2 parts of the Korean drama will be available on 2 separate release dates. Each part of the series will consist of 8 episodes, making the drama’s length a total of 16 episodes.
Since The Glory has gained massive attention from Korean drama enthusiasts, having 2 separate parts of such a promising Korean drama would be excruciating. That is especially when the drama is Kim Eun Sook’s masterpiece that will be brought to life by first-class actress Song Hye Kyo.
Stemming from The Real-Life Issue of School Bullying: Rated 19+
Further in the press conference, writer Kim Eun Sook revealed that the upcoming 2022 The Glory Korean drama stems from real-life issues of school bullying.
The inspiration came when Kim Eun Sook’s daughter asked whether it would hurt if she hit her to death or if it would hurt even more if the opposite happened. Naturally, this question horrified Kim Eun Sook. But at the same time, it kicked start the initial idea of The Glory.
“In that short moment, the story unfolded in my mind, and I went to the studio to write.”

Writer Kim Eun Sook also stated that she had read a lot of writings from school bullying victims. According to Kim Eun Sook, they all wanted the same thing: a sincere apology. Instead of meaningless compensation, all those victims wanted the perpetrator to sincerely apologize to them so they could regain their dignity and honor.
“Violence causes us to lose human dignity, honor, and glory. I thought it was only the beginning when one received an apology, so I named the drama ‘The Glory’.”

The horrific base of the story is the reason why Netflix’s upcoming 2022 Korean drama, The Glory, is rated 19+ content.
“There are various abusive languages and school violence cases.
However, the main reason is that I think Dong Eun’s philosophy should aim for adults who have the ability and capability to judge more fairly. After all, it is a story of choosing revenge for oneself rather than revenge in the judicial system.”

The Glory Korean Drama 2022: A Story That Breaks the Hearts of Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun
This horrific story of school bullying, topped by writer Kim Eun Sook and director Ahn Gil Ho brought Song Hye Kyo to accept the offer. Netflix’s upcoming 2022 Korean drama, The Glory, was a project that she had desperately wanted to try that she even felt heartbroken while reading the script.
“The writer and director were my first reasons for accepting the role. But then, when I read the script, I found that it was the type of character and genre that I had desperately wanted.
In fact, I was extremely heartbroken while reading the script that I even spaced out for a while. And I believed this would be such a great drama.” – Song Hye Kyo.
At the same time, Lee Do Hyun also admitted that he was highly immersed in the story when he read the script.
