The brilliant idol-actor Im Si Wan possesses numerous talents and skills hidden beyond his mesmerizing looks. After demonstrating his captivating acting performance in Emergency Declaration, the former ZE:A member is now back with another surprising update.
On February 6, SPOTV News reported that actor Im Si Wan had been appointed as the promotional ambassador for World Table Tennis Championships 2024.
Co-chairman Park Hyung Joong and Busan Mayor Yoo Seung Min of the Championships’ Organizing Committee conducted an appointment ceremony at the SeAH Tower in Mapo District, Seoul, February 6.
At the ceremony, the committee delivered a letter of appointment, inaugurating Im Si Wan as the official public relation ambassador for World Table Tennis Championships 2024.
World Table Tennis Championships 2024: Venue & Dates
The World Table Tennis Championships 2024 is the field’s ultimate and most prestigious tournament. Therefore, approximately 2,000 players and officials from around 40 countries will be present and participate in the event.
After canceling the event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Busan will finally be able to host the World Table Tennis Championships 2024 next year. They will hold the event at BEXCO for 10 days from February 16 – 25, 2024.
Not only that, but next year’s event will be a lot more special. Why? Because 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of South Korea’s introduction to table tennis.
Im Si Wan is Taking the Lead in Promoting the Event
Finally, as the official public relation ambassador, Im Si Wan will take the lead in the event’s promotional activities throughout the year.
Regarding his appointment, Im Si Wan feels incredibly honored to be entrusted as one of the primary figures determining the event’s success. So, according to Im Si Wan, he will do his best to make the competition a success.
“Table tennis has been an extremely familiar game since I was young. Yes, I may not be good at it. But I loved it so much. I remember playing table tennis when I was in school. That is why I’m happy and honored to be appointed as the ambassador for the most prestigious table tennis event.
Table tennis has been having a hard time due to COVID-19. However, it’s time to stand up again. And I will do my best to make the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships a success.”

Meanwhile, Secretary General Kim Taek Soo of the Organizing Committee thanked Im Si Wan for being the ambassador. After all, he believed that Im Si Wan’s domestic and international reputation had significantly improved Busan’s rising reputation.
“I sincerely express my gratitude to actor Im Si-wan for willingly accepting the position of public relations ambassador for the successful hosting of the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships.
