On the afternoon of April 18th, BTS member J-hope enlisted in the 36th Infantry Division training center. BTS J-hope will serve as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean army to fulfill his mandatory military service.
BTS J-hope Enlists in the South Korean Army Today to Fulfill His Mandatory Military Service
Four months after BTS’ eldest member, Jin, enlisted in the military last December, another BTS member, J-hope, has enlisted today to fulfill his mandatory military service. He became the second member of the group to complete his military service.
J-hope, whose real name is Jung Ho Seok, entered the boot camp in Wonju, Gangwon Province. He would undergo five weeks of basic military training before being transferred to his regular unit.
BTS J-hope Enlistment Day in Military
Prior to his enlistment date, BigHit Music did not confirm the circulating news of J-hope’s alleged enlistment date, making fans nervous about J-hope’s exact enlistment date.
However, through Weverse Live on April 14th, without informing the exact date of his enlistment date, J-hope encouraged his fans by saying,
“Don’t worry too much because I’ll be back safely (from the military).”

Further, on April 17th, BTS Jin revealed that the enlistment date was accurate. Through his message on Weverse under BTS J-hope’s post for Jimin on April 4th, BTS Jin wrote, “LOL …D-1”.
Furthermore, on the same day, J-hope also shared his new military buzz cut ahead of his enlistment day on his personal Instagram and Weverse.
On his personal Instagram, the idol who is known for his bright attitude, wrote a heartwarming message to his fans worldwide. He wrote,
“I will come back healthy and well.”

Meanwhile, on Weverse he wrote,
“I love you, ARMY. I’ll be back safely.”

All BTS members, including Jin who joined the military last December, sent off the singer of “Arson” on his military enlistment today at the boot camp in Wonju. They shared their latest pictures together on their SNS with the caption, “I love you, J-hope.”

ARMY Sent Large Buses with Encouraging Words for BTS J-hope
Earlier on April 1st, BigHit Music officially announced that J-hope would join the army as an active soldier to fulfill his mandatory military service. Moreover, there would be no official event on his enlistment day. So, the agency asked the idol’s fans not to come to the site to prevent any possible issues.
Ahead of J-hope’s enlistment today, large buses sent by fans lined up at the entrance to the boot camp. The large buses were wrapped with J-hope’s face and encouraging words to cheer the idol. The words were “Now it’s time to trust us” and “Cheering with unconditional faith.”
J-hope was the first BTS member who debuted as a solo artist with his first solo album, Jack in the Box. He also made a fantastic solo performance at Lollapalooza.
