ChoCo Entertainment had announced that their upcoming Kpop group would be introduced through a variety show, ChoCo in Hollywood. However, many Kpop fans are shocked and disagree with the so-called 5th generation of Kpop group debut. There are actually TWO main reasons Kpop fans do not support the upcoming Kpop group ChoCo.
Why Kpop Fans Do NOT Support Kpop Group ChoCo
The under-aged members
Previously, ChoCo Entertainment revealed the members of their upcoming groups. Jake, whose real name is Yeom Yechan, was born in September 4, 2008. It means that this year, he will turn 16 years old (Korean age). Meanwhile, Anpan, whose real name is Anyapan Phuwasetthawat, was born in June 7, 2010. She will be turning 14 years old (Korean age) this year. Jake and Anpan were chosen as the leaders of ChoCo1 and ChoCo 2 respectively.
Kpop fans believe that the two leaders are still too young and haven’t finished their school yet. However, we can’t ignore their skills and talents. Jake is a all-rounder with many talents. His specialties among various talents he owns are playing the drums, rapping, and drawing. Meanwhile, Anpan’s specialties are dancing and acting. She was also a child-model, which makes her familiar with model walking.
Previously, ChoCo Entertainment previously revealed that they indeed focus on creating Kpop idols under 15 years old. Therefore, fans believe that the rest of the group members are also in such a young age, and that’s the first reason why Kpop fans do not support ChoCo.
The problematic CEO
Cho Joong-hoon (ChoPD), the CEO of ChoCo Entertainment is known to have a problematic past.
In 2009, ChoPD founded known as Brand New Stardom Entertainment to manage his career before creating a ne boy group. Several months after that, Kpop boy group Block B debuted.
However, in 2013, Block B filed a lawsuit against Stardom Entertainment. The group claimed that the label has not paid them for more than a year. As a result, Block B were able to transfer their rights to a new label. Meanwhile, Stardom Entertainment debuted another boy group, Topp Dogg.
The 13-piece boy group had to similar case to Block B. Therefore, several members filed lawsuits to terminate their contracts. In 2016, the leader P-Goon took to Twitter demanding ChoPD to explain where the group’s missing funds from their Japanese tour went.
At that time, ChoPD had transferred all the assets of Stardom to Hunus Entertainment. He was no longer involved with the company or group under Stardom. However, Hunus and ChoPD were involved in lawsuit over other financial issues.
Hunus ultimately won the lawsuit, resulting ChoPD to be sentenced to a two-year suspended sentence.
And now, ChoPD is attempting to debut two new Kpop groups under his new label, ChoCo Entertainment. The groups are to be introduced through a variety show, ChoCo in Hollywood.

this child being a ’10 is one thing… one major red flag. the other red flag is the ceo of this company being the same ceo who’s been charged for fraud when it came down to topdogg stealing 200 thousand dollars from them. https://t.co/0AXYo3jbkU
