BLACKPINK Continues to Lead in May 2023 Kpop Girl Group Brand Reputation Rankings

For the May K-pop girl group list, the Korean Business Research Institute has collected and analyzed 58,335,055 girl group big data from April 14 to May 14, 2023. Compared to 55,611,462 girl group big data in April, it increased by 4.90 percent.

Accordingly, BLACKPINK stayed on top, followed by IVE, NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM and aespa, completing the top five for this month’s list.

Top 5 Kpop Girl Groups

Although BLACKPINK’s brand value dropped 17.13 percent to 6,734,798 this month, the group topped the list for the second consecutive month. According to the link analysis, the group’s most popular related terms were “registered, release, and surpass.”

Meanwhile, in the keyword analysis, BLACKPINK’s most popular phrases included “airplane, concert, and Guinness World Record.” In addition, the quartet girl group scored 91.98 percent of positive reactions in the positivity/negativity analysis.

Next, Kpop girl group IVE’s brand value increased by 81.31 percent this month and ranked second with a brand value of 5,952,401. Down to the third place, Kpop girl group NewJeans’s brand value fell by 11.14 percent this month to 4,823,782.

Furthermore, LE SSERAFIM took the fourth position with a striking increase in brand value of 108.67 percent since last month. The group reached a brand value of 4,327,928 this month. Finally, aespa rose to the fifth position and rounded out the top five Kpop girl groups this month. The group’s brand value scored 3,202,140, showing an increase of 62.74 percent from last month.
