Today, Kim Nam Gil will showcase more charismatic side with a new action Korean drama Trigger with Kim Young Kwang.
On May 18, Star News stated Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang would appear in new action Korean drama. This new drama, Trigger, will be Netflix’s original series in the action-thriller genre. And both actors will be the main characters of the whole storyline.
What is the New Action Drama About?
According to the report, Netflix’s Trigger Korean drama will tell the story of two protagonists with entirely opposite perspectives on a firearm.
Facing a sudden gun trafficking case in South Korea, a country where the free use of firearms is strictly prohibited, two main characters collaborate with completely opposite views. These two characters are trying hard to solve the chaos due to the wide availability of these firearms. Together, they pursue those behind the source of this horrid incident.
Firstly, Island veteran actor Kim Nam Gil will take the role of Lee Do. He is a former military sniper and Olympic medalist, now working as a police officer. In his belief, no man should ever use a gun in their life.
Meanwhile, rising brilliant actor Kim Young Kwang will once again take a striking, fearless character Moon Baek. After going through challenging twists and turns in life, Moon Baek managed to climb the ladder and become a key figure in firearms dealing. However, behind his ruthless business, he believes that people must only use guns to defend the weak.
Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang TRIGGER: Another Blockbuster with Massive Budget
Still, what is most surprising is that Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang new action drama, Trigger, will be another Korean blockbuster with a massive budget.
Star News stated this Netflix original series had recorded a production cost of 30 billion KRW (± 22.5 million USD). This production budget is almost similar to those of Jirisan and Snowdrop.
Moreover, Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang agencies stated on May 18 that both actors were positively reviewing their offers. These statements almost 90% guarantee that they will highly likely accept the roles if there are no imminent and scheduling issues.
