Taeyeon is set to hold her very first official concert, the ODD of LOVE, in Indonesia. The INVU singer’s concert will be held on July 22 at 2.30 PM Indonesia time. However, the singer and fans are disappointed by the choice of venue which can only accommodate 5,000 people. What is going on?
Taeyeon Expressed Her Disappointment about Her First Concert in Indonesia
On June 21, the singer used her Instagram Story to express dissatisfaction with the upcoming Taeyeon Concert in Jakarta. She reposted two Instagram Stories from the official account of her agency, SM Entertainment. In the first post, she added a thinking face emoji.
Further, in the second post, she wrote, “‘Taeyeon Concert in Jakarta’-nim doesn’t know what she’s talking about 😏.”
Although the singer didn’t explain clearly in her posts, fans speculate that she is throwing shade at the limited seat capacity in the venue. The Taeyeon Concert in Jakarta, titled the Odd to Love, will take place at Hall 5 in the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE). What matters is that the hall can hold only up to 5,000 people.
SM Underestimates Taeyeon’s Fans in Indonesia?
Taeyeon’s concert venues in other countries can hold more than 10,000 people. The Odd of Love concert in Seoul, the concert was held at KSPO Dome (capacity of 15,000), Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Arena (capacity of 14,000), and Taipei at Taipei Arena (capacity of 13,000). Other venues in Tokyo, Manila, and Bangkok can hold up to 10,000, 5,000, and 11,000 people.
Moreover, Hall 5 at the ICE capacity is significantly lower than the typical attendance at Taeyeon’s concerts. She can sell out 10,000 tickets easily. In Seoul, 18,000 tickets were sold out from pre-sale alone. Meanwhile, she has sold out all the tickets in Taiwan and still has over 100,000 people in the queue.
However, ICE BSD offers 10 exhibition halls, each accommodating up to 5,000 people. Apparently, the halls can be combined to make a larger area, for example, from the most recent Kpop concert of Agust D (BTS Suga), which used halls 5 and 6 to hold up to 10,000 people.
Therefore, fans are confused why SM agreed on using only one hall at ICE for the famous 2nd generation Kpop idol, Taeyeon, for her first official concert in Indonesia. Additionally, some Indonesian fans found out that there are more than one options with larger area for the concert.

"I think you introduced yourself wrongly, is it perhaps a copy-and-paste?"
I think Taeyeon is especially frustrated with the way SM handle this concert because this is her precious moment… pic.twitter.com/7VceUd0W3w
Taeyeon’s concert will be attended by more than 5,000 people
Sone (Taeyeon’s fans) complained about how small the venue for her first concert in Indonesia is. Not only that, Korean fans also helped by sending protest truck to SM bulding. They demanded bigger venue or additional hall for Taeyeon’s the ODD of LOVE concert in Indonesia.
