The Korean Business Research Institute recently released the brand reputation rankings for the most popular Kpop boy groups this month. These rankings provide insight into the popularity and influence of various boy groups in the industry. The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 57,141,655 data points on boy group brands from July 12 to August 12, 2023. The analysis revealed a 2.31% decrease compared to July’s data points of 58,490,264.
Additionally, the institute utilized these data points to comprehensively analyze consumer behavior, considering factors such as brand participation, media coverage, communication, and community engagement. After thorough analysis, the institute acquired the brand reputation index for each Kpop boy group. Finally, the institute ranked the Kpop boy groups based on their brand reputation index for the current month.
Accordingly, the Kpop boy groups BTS, SEVENTEEN, EXO, INFINITE, and ZEROBASEONE have secured the top five spots on this month’s brand reputation rankings.
Top 5 Kpop Boy Groups
1. BTS
- Brand Participation Index: 339,692
- Media Index: 1,888,123
- Communication Index: 1,924,503
- Community Index: 2,391,665
BTS’s brand reputation index experienced a decline of 37.71%, dropping from 10,505,246 in July to 6,543,983. The link analysis identified “record,” “release,” and “enlist” as the top related terms associated with the group.
Meanwhile, the keyword analysis revealed “Jungkook,” “V,” and “photo card” as the most frequently searched keywords for the group. Additionally, the group received a positive rate of 85.11% in the positive-negative rate analysis.
2. SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN’s brand reputation index increased by 10.10%, rising from 4,490,949 in July to 4,944,749. Last month, the group wrapped up their “FOLLOW” tour in Seoul with two nights of performances. And currently, the group is preparing to release their Japanese best album,’ ALWAYS YOURS,’ ahead of their tour in Japan in September. Furthermore, their song “Super” has been nominated for Best Kpop at the 2023 MTV VMA.

Furthermore, EXO’s brand reputation index experienced a significant increase of 145.77%, rising from 1,860,292 in July to 4,572,081. Although EXO’s Kai, who began his social service in May, participated in the album production, he did not partake in the promotion. Additionally, this album will likely be Sehun’s last release before he begins his mandatory military service later this year.

Further, the group delighted fans by surprising them with the release of their seventh mini-album, “13egin,” on their 13th anniversary. Additionally, their upcoming concert tour, “COMEBACK AGAIN,” adds excitement for their highly anticipated comeback.
5. ZEROBASEONE

The rookie boy group ZEROBASEONE, also known as ZB1, debuted this month on the ranking list with a brand reputation index of 2,459,420. Under WAKEONE Entertainment, ZEROBASEONE is a new nine-member group that officially debuted on July 10, 203.
Despite being a newcomer, ZEROBASEONE has already achieved remarkable feats in the Kpop boy group scene. Notably, the group has broken a record that stood for 26 years since SECHSKIES in 1997, surpassing one million pre-orders for their debut album. In just 13 days, their album has garnered an impressive 1.08 million pre-orders, solidifying their position as a rising force in the industry.
