BLACKPINK Lisa Reportedly Rejected Contract Renewal Offers from YG Entertainment Company
The global Kpop girl group sensation BLACKPINK is undergoing another massive development that is both shocking and unexpected for the Kpop community. The managing company of BLACKPINK is reportedly at risk of losing one of its members: Lisa.
On September 14, Korean media outlet Star News reported that BLACKPINK might stop working with YG Entertainment company (YG). Korean media sources indicate that the contract renewal discussions between BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment may continue for some time before an official decision is made.
One of the definitive reasons for BLACKPINK’s undefined future was that BLACKPINK Lisa has reportedly rejected contract renewal offers from YG Entertainment company. Moreover, BLACKPINK Lisa did not only reject one but two contract renewal offers worth 50 billion KRW (approximately 37.7 million USD).
There have been severe issues regarding the contract renewal process with BLACKPINK Lisa. Multiple reports revealed that the global dance icon has been receiving numerous appealing offers from international labels that are worth tens of millions of USD.
“Rumors suggest that international record labels, including those in Thailand, have reportedly offered Lisa contracts worth tens of millions of dollars.

MORE of Lisa’s Contract Renewal Issues
Furthermore, social media has been buzzing with more evidence that YG Entertainment is having severe contract renewal issues with BLACKPINK Lisa.
One of the apparent reasons stems from unusual activities on the Instagram account @YGad_official. This Instagram handle is an official account of BLACKPINK’s company, YG Entertainment, which publishes all PR content and advertisements for all the company’s artists. Not only Kpop idols but other YG Entertainment’s actors, singers, and models have all had their ads posted on the account.
While most of its artists, including BLACKPINK members Jennie and Jisoo, have all appeared on the page, it has been a while since it features BLACKPINK’s maknae Lisa. The last time she appeared was around 7 weeks ago. And this has been one of the reported signs that YG Entertainment is having contract renewal issues with the BLACKPINK maknae.
Previously, fans felt assured after BLACKPINK member Rosé reportedly declared at the Singapore concert that the group wasn’t going anywhere. This statement has been one of the most dependable signals that BLACKPINK will always stay as a group, even after the contract issues.
However, the statement turned out to be a misinterpretation by fans. That is because, at the time, Rosé did not state that BLACKPINK wasn’t going anywhere. She only expressed her gratitude to the fans waiting for a long time. Then, she said, “BLACKPINK is in your area now.”
Not to burst your bubble or anything but let's not put words into Rosie's mouth 😅 In my video here she said "Cause Blackpink is IN YOUR AREA NOW." 😊

Will BLACKPINK Disband?
Ultimately, all these contract renewal issues bring us to the most crucial question: will BLACKPINK eventually disband if Lisa leaves YG Entertainment company?
The answer is: not really.
While there have been plenty of strong reasons why BLACKPINK might not survive the 7-year curse, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the group will eventually disband.
There are numerous cases of modern-day Kpop groups to continue promoting even after some of its members left the founding company. Kpop groups 2PM and Girls Generation remain solid for over 15 years after their debut. And this happened even when most of its members left the founding companies, JYP and SM.
Therefore, let us not lose hope until YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK members deliver their official statements. In the meantime, stay with Kpoppost Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram channel. We will keep you updated with BLACKPINK’s news and activities.
