The recent controversy surrounding the drug case scandal of “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun progressed unexpectedly. A recent drug test involving 100 strands of hair belonging to “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun returned negative results for traces of drugs, leaving the public confused about what really happened behind the scenes. However, more reports about the controversy emerged, further revealing the supplier behind Lee Sun Kyun drug scandal. So, was he really innocent? Dive deep into Lee Sun Kyun’s case in the following report.
Drug Test of “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun Came Out Negative: A Twist in the Scandal!
Two weeks after the drug scandal controversy involving “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun first came out, new reports revealed a drastic development.
On November 3, SBS News reported a negative result coming from the drug test of “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun. According to SBS, even though Lee Sun Kyun was previously suspected of abusing drugs, results of the detailed analysis of the “Parasite” actor detected no such substances. Consequently, the actor would attend another police investigation on November 4.
Further in the report, SBS explained that the negative result of Lee Sun Kyun drug test came from an emergency detailed hair analysis. The police had previously collected 100 strands of Lee Sun Kyun’s hair during the search and seizure they conducted last month.
Subsequently, the police requested a detailed analysis using the same 100 strands of hair they had collected. However, they detected no traces of drugs, including marijuana or psychoactive substances listed in the warrant.
Additionally, the SBS exclusive report clarified that the strands of hair tested had been segmented into 2 to 3 cm (0.78 – 1.18 inch) sections. This is reportedly to ensure a more detailed analysis of the hair test. However, all sections of these hair strands showed negative test results.
Therefore, given that hair grows approximately 1 cm (0.4 inches) per month, this suggests that Lee Sun Kyun may have abstained from drug use for at least 8 to 10 months.
Drug Scandal Supplier Revealed: More Updates in the Controversy!
In addition to the drug test result, more updates on the Lee Sun Kyun drug case controversy emerged, revealing more threats and the possible source of drugs.
On November 3, Channel A reported that the female manager of the entertainment establishment whom the police previously arrested had allegedly provided Lee Sun Kyun with a place to abuse the drugs. Not only that, but this female manager had also reportedly threatened the actor.
Along with this new update, the police had also identified a doctor who had allegedly supplied the drugs to the female manager. According to the report, the drugs came from doctor B’s hospital, which the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety registered in their Integrated Drug Management System.
Since January 2022, the hospital has prescribed over 14,000 narcotics. And for the last 5 years, they also prescribed 10,000 drugs, which had allegedly surpassed the threshold for narcotics prescriptions.
The majority of the prescriptions from the hospital were for Zolpidem, a sleep-inducing substance, totaling 7,300 instances. The rest were the appetite suppressant phentermine and the sleeping pill flunitrazepam.
Most of these drug prescriptions were for psychiatric purposes. However, the hospital primarily offered plastic surgery and skin treatments, raising suspicions.
Does It Mean that “Parasite” Actor Lee Sun Kyun is Innocent?
Eventually, the latest development in the drug scandal controversy involving “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun brings confusion to the public. Does it mean that he was actually innocent in the first place?
SBS further revealed that since Lee Sun Kyun had received drug-related threats from the entertainment establishment’s manager, the police still cannot rule out the possibility of his drug abuse. They still have to consider the possibility of him taking the drugs before the 8-to-10-month period.
Besides, expert attorney Ahn Ji Seong commented that the negative test result did not necessarily mean he was clean. That’s because hair procedures, including bleaching and dyeing, might interfere with the result’s accuracy.
“A negative test result may indicate that there is no evidence of marijuana usage.
However, this may not necessarily be accurate.
Common practices like bleaching or dyeing may have compromised the reliability of the test, which can interfere with the results.”
Ahn Ji Seong, an expert attorney.
