TVXQ Yunho was in the adult entertainment business and tried to flee from the police

The news is out on MBC broadcast news earlier, it was reported that when Yunho was caught he was with 3 acquitances and the establishment female worker at an entertainment bar.. The acquitances fought with police to let Yunho escape pic.twitter.com/PAUp1JC5uW

On March 9, it was reported that the police have been investigating one artist under SM Entertainment for staying at the restaurant until midnight. The report said that TVXQ Yunho was 1 of at least five people drinking at the illegal adult entertainment business in Cheongdamdong.

The building was initially registered with the city of Gangnam as a restaurant. However, the reports said that it was an illegally operated adult entertainment business that only members can enter.

Yunho himself has apologized for breaking the quarantine rules, “I am so ashamed of myself that I am angry with myself, and I think many people have been upset and hurt a lot because of my wrongdoing.”

Yunho tried to flee from the police

On March 12, MBC’s ‘News Desk’ updated the news saying that the police were called to the building after 10 PM KST, and there was a physical fight between the police officers and Yunho’s acquaintances. The people who fought with the police officers were believed to have been stalling on Yunho’s behalf.

SM Entertainment denied the news

Following up the news, SM Entertainment denied the news on Yunho and responded with a statement:

“This is SM Entertainment.

There was a report with false information today related to Yunho, and so we are sharing our statement.

It was clearly wrong for Yunho to have not abided by the social distancing regulations, and he is also personally profoundly reflecting. However, he did not do anything wrong other than violating the social distancing regulations.

All Yunho did was go to the location that his friend told him to come to after his friend contacted him to say that he wanted to talk about a concern. It was his first time going to that place.

Also, the only people that Yunho spent time with there were his friends. It is not at all true that there was a female employee sitting with them. When the police arrived, there were only managers there to handle the payment, not female employees.

In addition, it is not at all true that Yunho tried to flee when the police arrived. Instead, he earnestly cooperated with the police and the public officials in the performance of their official duties, and so after he immediately confirmed his identity on the scene, he was sent home. As there were suddenly more than ten plainclothes police officers coming in, some of his friends were taken aback and protested, unaware that they were police officers. However, this was something entirely unrelated for Yunho.

It is deeply regrettable that a false report was made without the facts being properly confirmed.

Criticism and punishment will be accepted for the wrongdoing, but we implore you to refrain from groundless speculation.”

Kpop fans reactions

Towards the report that said Yunho tried to flee from police, Kpop fans have different reactions.

Would you believe SM or MBC?

In the theqoo article, some readers commented:

  • But I’m curious why his friend would want to receive counseling at an illegal entertainment business?
  • How can you believe in SM? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • What the hell is SM doing?… I thought they would have to issue an honest statement ㅠㅠ
  • Consulting at an illegal entertainment business..?
  • Do you believe in a company that has evaded taxes twice this year?
  • The days of asking for trust through an apology have passed; I don’t believe it all because the world is going crazy.

MBC should say sorry to Yunho

Some other Kpop fans believed that the news was wrong and require MBC to apologize to Yunho by trending #MBCsaySORRYtoYunho on Twitter.

I understand that you are running as a business but please take responsibility and be accountable in the name of journalism. You reported a false news and brought damage to the people involved. You have to apologise. Be professional. Own up to your mistakes.#MBCsaySORRYtoYunho
