On June 9, singer-entrepreneur Kang Daniel posted an extended message via his official Instagram account. In the message, Kang Daniel expressed his regret for breaking the news to his loyal fans that he had ended his business relationship with the company.
“Hello, this is Kang Daniel.
It’s hard to believe that half of the year has already passed. With the weather getting warmer, I truly feel how quickly time flies.
I want to announce that the journey with KONNECT, which has been my support and has taught me responsibility over the past five years, has come to an end.
I am deeply grateful to all the employees and associates who have led KONNECT with tears and laughter. And I will always remember your dedication and hard work.
While it is unfortunate and regrettable to conclude this journey with some bad news, I am determined to quietly and diligently overcome these challenges, as I always have. I will use this time to reflect and plan for a better future.
To our beloved Danity, who think of me more than anyone else, I want to reassure you that I will continue to be by your side as Kang Daniel. I am working hard to bring you good news soon, so please don’t worry too much and take good care of yourselves.

What Happened to the Company?
Previously, Kang Daniel revealed to have filed a lawsuit against the major shareholders of his company, KONNECT Entertainment. Apparently, person A who owns almost 70% shares in KONNECT Entertainment, the company Kang Daniel founded 5 years ago, had embezzled the company’s business assets.
According to Kang Daniel’s legal representative, Mr. A had forged Kang Daniel’s signature to seal a corporate stamp and entered into a distribution contract worth over 10 billion KRW in December 2022.
What’s worse, Kang Daniel was unaware of this until last year and also found out that Mr. A had withdrawn at least 2 billion KRW from the company’s accounts by sending it abroad and processing it as business income.

The charges against the individual include forgery of private documents, embezzlement, breach of trust, violation of the Information and Communication Network Act, and computer fraud.”
