tvN’s New Korean Drama “Serendipity’s Embrace”
On June 21, tvN announced the official title and release date for its upcoming romance Korean drama, “Serendipity’s Embrace.” The new series, previously called “Is It a Coincidence?” or “Is It Fate,” now has the title “Serendipity’s Embrace.”
Storyline
The romance Korean drama is based on a popular webtoon titled “Is It a Coincidence?”. It follows the journey of young individuals as they navigate the quest for true love and the pursuit of their dreams. Through a serendipitous twist of fate, they find themselves reunited with their first love after a decade apart.

Kim So Hyun as Lee Hong Joo
Lee Hong Joo is an animation producer who is afraid of falling in love. She found love in high school but became skeptical after a painful breakup. But everything changes when she unexpectedly reunites with Kang Hoo Young, who was there for her during tough times.
Chae Jong Hyeop as Kang Hoo Young
Kang Hoo Young, a handsome financial planner with a sharp mind, has been navigating his career and romantic relationships smoothly, as if walking on a red carpet. However, upon his return to Korea, he is overwhelmed with emotions when he coincidentally reunites with his first love.
Yoon Ji On as Bang Joon Ho
Bang Joon Ho is a writer with a free spirit who wants to turn back the past.
Kim Da Som as Kim Hye Ji
Kim Hye Ji is a loving English teacher and Lee Hong Ju’s best friend. She has grown from a shy student to a gorgeous and fiery personality who invests in herself and never stops romancing.
Supporting Actors
Joining the main cast, Lee Won Jung, known for his role in Netflix’s “Hierarchy,” will play a meat restaurant owner in the new series. Yoon Jun Won, returning after “Cheer Up,” will portray Hoo Yeong’s friend, Joseph Oh. Also, Hwang Sung Bim from “Frankly Speaking” will appear as Kim Kyung Taek, the Physics teacher.
