Finally! Korean Outdoor Stadium Reopening in June 2021, with Special Restrictions

Korean fans can now shout in happiness because the Korean outdoor stadium will be reopening in June 2021. However, several restrictions will apply due to the social distancing to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.

Korean Outdoor Stadium Reopening Date in 2021

On June 11, Yonhap News reported that the Korean outdoor stadium would be reopening on the date of June 14. Various Korean outdoor activities will be allowed to operate in the outdoor stadiums, including soccer, baseball, and music.

Korean Outdoor Stadium Capacity Limit

Furthermore, to prevent COVID19 from spreading, there will still be limitations to the number of people attending the Korean outdoor stadium.

Also, Korean outdoor stadiums located on level 2 metropolitan areas will limit their capacity up to 30%. Alternatively, outdoor stadiums located on level 1.5 of non-metropolitan areas will have a capacity limit of 50%. These policies are applicable for sports and other events.

In the case of popular music events, the capacity limit will be up to 4000 people, depending on the music performance hall.

Starting from June 14, venue capacity restrictions will gradually be lifted in Korea. Outdoor stadiums will allow 50% capacity (non-metropolitan areas) & 30% capacity (metropolitan). Yonhaps reports that beginning on June 14th, outdoor stadia will reopen in Korea at 30% capacity in metropolitan areas, 50% capacity in non-metropolitan areas. In the case of popular music events, up to 4K audience members may attend events.

Social Distancing Protocol is a MUST

Despite the general rules and policies, the local Korean government will have full authority to regulate the number of spectators/audiences. That way, they can adjust the quarantine rules for Korean outdoor stadium reopening based on their situation.

The basic rules for Social Distancing Protocol are:

Maintaining >1m distance.
Wearing a mask at all times.
Eating is prohibited.
Shouting, chanting, and chorus are not allowed.
Visitors who do not comply with the rules will be banned.
