FULL Story Behind HYBE 2000-Page Internal Documents Leak: Writer, Mastermind, and Purpose
After all the massive scandals and controversy, more secrets and the full story behind the HYBE 2000-page internal documents leak finally come to light.
On October 31, Korean media outlet Sports Seoul released an exclusive report discussing HYBE internal documents leak and the writer behind the menacing report.
According to the coverage, the leak during the National Assembly trial, in which NewJeans Hanni attended, was only a small portion of the full 2000-page internal documents (also known as “Weekly Industry Report”) circulating among HYBE executives.
What’s appalling is that Sports Seoul believes that if all the details of this horrifying report go public, they will truly shake the fundamental base of the Korean entertainment industry.
So, what’s the purpose of this “Weekly Industry Report”? And who’s the writer who compiled all the dreadful details and biased opinions behind the full 2000-page internal documents for HYBE executives? Who in the world possibly had the idea to create such a horrible report?
Who’s the Writer Behind HYBE’s Full 2000-page “Weekly Industry Report?
Firstly, let’s discuss the writer behind HYBE 2000-page internal documents and its controversial leak, Kang Myung Seok.
The full exclusive report from Sports Seoul revealed a growing interest in the close relationship between Kang Myung Seok and HYBE very own chairman, Bang Si Hyuk.
According to the report, Kang Myung Seok is a former chief editor of the prominent Weverse Magazine. He was also the writer and editor of BTS “Beyond the Story” anniversary book.
The relationship between HYBE internal documents writer Kang Myung Seok and Bang Si Hyuk dates back to the early 2000s. At the time, Bang Si Hyuk left JYP Entertainment to build his own company, Big Hit. However, the two close friends maintained their friendship, especially since Kang Myung Seok worked as an editor and a consultant for entertainment companies.
Full Purpose and Intention: Bang Si Hyuk is the Mastermind!
If you’ve seen the full, circulating leak of HYBE internal documents, you may be asking what in the world these are for and who orchestrated this horrible report.
Apparently, the answer is none other than Bang Si Hyuk, the one and only chairman of HYBE and the so-called father of global megastar BTS.
Sports Seoul further revealed that Kang Myung Seok wrote and compiled HYBE internal “Weekly Industry Report” documents based on Bang Si Hyuk’s intention. And the leak was only a tiny little portion of this horrifying report.
“Chairman Bang is the kind of person who dives deep into every forum—he’s tuned in to industry trends and what fans say.
Therefore, Kang Myung Seok gathered all kinds of feedback from various fandom platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), and pulled everything into the report.
Interestingly, the way Kang Myung Seok structured this report is similar to the weekly reports he did as a journalist. It’s a mix of interview insights and trending topics from online forums. And honestly, the bits that have come out so far are just the tip of the iceberg.”

So, what’s Bang Si Hyuk’s intention? Apparently, HYBE is using internal documents to “educate” C-level executives who mainly come from a gaming industry background.
“From Bang Si Hyuk’s viewpoint, it was crucial for executives—many of whom came from gaming backgrounds—to grasp the entertainment industry trends.
Instead of depending only on media or critics, they brought Kang Myung Seok on board with a seven-figure salary specifically for this insight.
Running Weverse Magazine was just one part of his job.”

HYBE Internal Documents Leak: Massive Criticisms from Industry Insiders
Following the leak of the horrifying internal documents, the Korean entertainment industry massively criticized HYBE.
Sports Seoul also reported multiple backlashes, not from fans but from prominent insiders in Korean entertainment. They believe the comment sections on idols’ appearances and rehearsal practice were especially concerning.
“There’s just too much baseless information. Although I know him well, I don’t understand why he wrote it this way.”

“Sure, other companies monitor fandoms too. But if this report is anything like what was leaked, it’s clearly meant to discredit.
How can anyone accurately value an artist with this level of biased perspective? Just imagining that all 2,000 pages are filled with this kind of content is honestly alarming.
HYBE controls over 50% of the Kpop market, so it’s not just any entertainment company. Running things this way isn’t right.
By undermining other artists, they’re ultimately affecting their own, too. It feels like they’re trying to make everyone else look bad while keeping themselves out of the spotlight.
This isn’t just about competition—it impacts the entire Kpop industry, and it’s really disheartening to just sit back and watch.”

Min Heejin’s Opinion Dismissed
Previously, NewJeans producer Min Heejin revealed to have voiced her opinion regarding the report. However, HYBE’s former CEO Park Ji Won and now HYBE-appointed ADOR CEO Kim Ju Young dismissed her opinions.
“The weekly ‘Industry Trend Review’ from Weverse Magazine’s Kang Myung Seok is consistently biased.
At the time, ADOR even requested adding metrics for objectivity, but when I raised concerns, CEO Park Ji Won said, ‘Just don’t read it,’ and HR Chief Kim Joo-young called it ‘just one person’s opinion.’
It’s terrifying that such a one-sided view is circulated as the company’s stance, making it seem like it’s pushing a specific agenda.”

“Shameless Backstabber”: A Massive Blow to HYBE’s Global Reputation
Finally, this controversial leak of HYBE internal documents has dramatically degraded the label’s reputation.
Another report from Sport Seoul condemned HYBE’s act as a “shameless backstabber.” Instead of growing together to enhance Kpop music in the global market, the company has backstabbed artists from its company and others, as well as fellow industry colleagues.
“HYBE is now at serious risk of being labeled a “shameless backstabber.”
With sensitive internal documents leaking out, there’s growing speculation that these issues could be tied to ongoing legal disputes.
HYBE’s reputation and hard-earned success are teetering because of this failure to keep its own house under control.
Many believe this incident could heighten concerns about the future of Kpop—a crisis HYBE may have brought on itself.
In pop culture, ethics are everything. Building trust takes time and effort, but losing it can happen in a moment.”

So,
I was about to take this article seriously, but then I saw Kang Myung Seok name misspelled at least two times. It seems more like somebody decided it was time for a hostile takeover while the boys are in the Military ... and if the information was leaked on the prior to or on the 31st of October, how could so many have access to these docs. I don't understand how any of the stuff suddenly pops up after the boys go to the Military ... maybe the Shaman we all read about knows, or could it be disgruntled a few employee(s)s trying to take control or get a piece of HYBE? How do these types of documents get fact checked and or validated?
