New Korean Drama Based Webtoon “The First Night With the Duke” Cast
Following previous reports, the cast lineup for the upcoming Korean drama “The First Night With the Duke” has finally been revealed! According to a report by Newsen on November 28,Seohyun, Ok Taecyeon, Ji Hye Won, Seo Bum June, and Kwon Han Sol will star in the upcoming KBS2 fantasy romance drama.
The drama is based on a famous webtoon by Hwang Do Tol, “Taking the Male Lead’s First Night.” Director Lee Woong Hee, known for his latest drama “The Perfect Stranger,” will direct the project. Meanwhile, writer Jeon Seon Yang, known for her latest drama “Branding in Seongsu” wrote the script.

“The First Night With the Duke” is a spellbinding fantasy romance Korean drama. The story follows the journey of an ordinary female college student whose soul possesses the minor character in her favorite romance novel. Moreover, she unexpectedly spends an unforgettable night with the possessive male lead of the romance novel.
Cast and Characters
Seohyun as Cha Seun Chaek
Cha Sun Chaek is an extra and has no significant role in the original novel. Coming from a wealthy family with privilege, she dreams of living a peaceful and comfy life. However, her life changes unexpectedly when the spirit of a college student named “K” enters her body. As she accidentally spends the night with the male lead, this unexpected twist also dramatically changes the novel’s narrative.
Ok Taecyeon as Yi Beon
Yi Beon embodies the perfect male protagonist in the story. He is a royal family member with outstanding martial arts skills and is the King’s favorite. Although he has a charming appearance, deep down, he harbors a painful wound. Various strange rumors from his past have caused him deep trauma, making him a cold person. Even so, he is a man who is very loyal and devoted to the woman he loves.
Kwon Han Sol as Jo Eun Ae
Jo Eun Ae is the wealthy merchant’s adopted daughter. In the romance novel, she plays the role of the original female lead. Her character was supposed to have a romance with Yi Beon, regardless of their class. However, when Cha Sun Chaek enters the story, the narrative and her fate change completely.
Seo Bum June as Jung Soo Kyum
Jung Soo Kyum is Yi Beon’s only friend who comes from a noble family and works as an official. Although he is the second male lead in the novel, his kindness and charm will instantly make girls fall in love with him. In the original story, he is involved in a love triangle with the main characters.
Ji Hye Won as DoHwa Sun
Do Hwa Sun is the antagonist in the novel. She strongly desires to marry Yi Beon and become a royal family member. Her obsession makes her a rival to the female lead.
