As the end of the year approaches, it seems that Aespa Winter must overcome various unexpected challenges. It was just yesterday that she finally returned from hiatus but aespa Winter had to face shocking harassment from Chinese sasaeng fans already.
On December 14, multiple accounts on social media X (formerly Twitter) posted disturbing footage of Chinese sasaeng fans approaching aespa Winter with alleged harassment. This shocking incident happened allegedly because of fans’ reactions to the previous false dating controversy between aespa Winter and ENHYPEN Jungwon.
Earlier this week, aespa Winter and ENHYPEN Jungwon were falsely accused of dating, causing controversy that shook the entire Kpop community. However, both agencies of Winter and Jungwon immediately denied the allegation.
But still, this dating rumor triggered quite a backlash among particular sasaeng fans in China.
What REALLY Happened?
aespa Winter flew to Shanghai for the KMS Offline Fansign event on December 15. Despite all the rumors about whether she would attend the event, she eventually joined the other aespa members, boarding the plane heading to Shanghai through Gimpo International Airport.
Unfortunately, once she arrived at the hotel, aespa Winter received a horrifying welcome from the Chinese sasaeng fans.
Several posts on X showed a group of people camped outside their hotel. Then, as aespa Winter arrived, they started aggressively yelling and cursing about the latest dating controversy with ENHYPEN Jungwon.

Not only that, but another video footage showed Chinese sasaeng fans rushing toward aespa Winter and Giselle as they entered the event’s building.
Hours after the hotel harassment incident, aespa Winter was getting ready to enter the venue of their offline fan sign. And yet, things went wrong when someone managed to slip past a staff member and a bodyguard, rushing toward the entrance where Winter and Giselle were walking. Security caught the person and quickly wrestled them away just seconds before Winter and Giselle entered.

Winter might have been saved right on time, but fans are upset at SM Entertainment and aespa’s security teams. They accused these two entities of incompetence and failure to protect aespa.
However, as of this time, both SM Entertainment and security company have yet to release official statements.
