On January 7, Coupang Play released the first teaser trailer of their upcoming zombie romance series, “Newtopia.” This teaser trailer featured glimpses of both the thrilling and comedic aspects of the series, giving fans something entirely fresh and new for this genre.
Newtopia kicks off with a sudden zombie outbreak at a high-rise air defense unit in Seoul. Caught in the chaos is Jae Yun, a soldier struggling with a recent breakup and unsure about what’s next in life. At the same time, his ex, Yeong Ju, plunges into the fray while trying to track him down. Over time, Jae Yun sheds his shy, insecure side and steps up as a true leader, while Yeong Ju taps into her own hidden courage to survive.
In this new zombie drama, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo plays Yeong Ju, a young woman who’s not only grappling with relationship drama but also doing her best to stay alive in a city overrun by the undead.
Jisoo’s Acting Controversy as Cast – What Do You Honestly Think?
Following the release of the “Newtopia” drama trailer, BLACKPINK Jisoo gained intensely mixed reactions regarding her acting as one of its cast members.
Some of the audience criticized Jisoo’s acting as being extremely underwhelming.
