On April 7, Chorokbaem Media and HYBE decided to resume filming the BTS Universe Kdrama series YOUTH and set to release in the second half of 2021. Further, the upcoming BTS Universe Kdrama series YOUTH will not be using BTS members’ real names, but they will use fictional character names.

BTS Universe K-drama series to resume filming & re-shooting with fictional character names

The upcoming BTS Universe drama series, which previously titled “Blue Sky” (푸른 하늘), has changed to “Youth.” BTS Kdrama series ‘Youth’ tells the story based on the BTS Universe storyline where seven young men live their lives through dark and complex situations shown in their music videos.

However, the drama filming has halted the late last year after BTS fans, ARMY, conveyed their concern about the characters’ names. Although the story is not about BTS’ members of the group or the group itself, it could affect BTS’ members’ real lives.

According to new reports on April 7, Chorokbaem Media and HYBE have decided to use fictional characters’ names instead of the BTS members’ real names. Yet, they didn’t reveal the reason for the decision. Due to the name changed, the production team has been re-shooting it, and the filming will continue until summer

According to KMedia, the drama "YOUTH", based on Bangtan Universe, has a production budget of 40B KRW (35.4M USD). It is expected to air in the second half of 2021.

Further, the BTS Universe drama series “Youth” also reported having budget production of 40 billion KRW. It’s the 3rd highest Kdrama budget production in history after Arthdal Chronicles (54b KRW) and The Legend (43b KRW).

The release date of the BTS Universe drama YOUTH is planned to be in the second half of 2021. BTS Universe drama ‘YOUTH’ cast line to play is seven rookie actors. They are Seo Jo Hoon, Ahn Ji Ho, Seo Young Ju, Kim Yoon Woo, Jung Woo-Jin, and Jeon Jin Seo.
