Review: Cashero (2025), A Superhero Powered by Money
The story follows Kang Sang-woong (Lee Jun-ho), an ordinary man who inherits extraordinary abilities, including super strength, invincibility, and flight. However, his powers come with a unique limitation—they are directly tied to his income. The more money he has, the stronger he becomes. Once his funds run dry, his abilities completely disappear.
This premise adds a distinctive twist to the narrative, creating tension, humor, and moral conflict as Sang-woong learns that being a hero comes at a very real personal cost.
Beyond the action, Cashero explores deeper themes of responsibility and sacrifice. Sang-woong struggles to balance his role as a crime-fighter with maintaining his long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Kim Min-suk (Kim Hye-jun). The series emphasizes that heroism is not just about power, but about choices, accountability, and emotional resilience.
Performances: A Strong and Well-Cast Ensemble

Lee Jun-ho as Kang Sang-woong
Lee Jun-ho delivers a compelling performance as the bystander turned protector who chooses to stand up for what he believes is right.
Kim Hye-jun as Kim Min-suk
Kim Hye-jun stands out as Min-suk, providing emotional depth and stability to the story. Personally, she is one of the sole reasons I was intrigued to watch this series. She handles her role completely as the perfect shoulder and support for her boyfriend as he grapples with who he has to be.
Supporting Cast
Kim Byeong-cheol and Kim Hyang-gi make notable appearances as fellow superhumans who help establish an organized society of Korean heroes. Their performances expand the series’ scope and suggest a larger universe beyond the main storyline.
Action, CGI, and Visual Effects
Cashero possesses all the inner workings of an entertaining superhero series as it’s action-packed from beginning to end.
The CGI and special effects are well-executed, enhancing the superhero elements without overwhelming the story. The series maintains a strong pace throughout its eight episodes, keeping viewers engaged from start to finish.
Final Review: Cashero, Familiar but Engaging
Although the storyline was predictable in certain areas, as the superhero genre has been heavily explored in recent years, this did not halt me from completing this television series. I was engaged by these eight episodes and curious about what lies ahead for our protagonist in his stand for ultimate justice.
Finally, as I shared in my review, Cashero successfully blends action, heart, and originality. The Korean superhero series offers a fun yet meaningful superhero experience that keeps viewers invested until the end.
