The Korean Business Institute has announced the latest Korean drama brand reputation rankings, with Netflix’s original K-drama series “Squid Game 2” ranked first. Please find below the list of the top 16 Korean drama brand reputation rankings for January 2025.
January 2025 Korean Drama Brand Reputation Rankings
From December 7, 2024, to January 7, 2025, the Korean Business Institute conducted a comprehensive analysis of 119,673,617 brand big data of 16 popular Korean dramas. This marks a significant increase of 131.25 percent compared to the 51,750,532 Kdrama’s brand big data in December 2024.
Furthermore, the institute assessed consumer brand participation, media, communication, community, and viewership indexes to determine the dramas’ brand value. Moreover, they will arrange the brand values to establish the Korean drama brand reputation rankings for January 2025.
According to the analysis results, “Squid Game 2,” “The Tale of Lady Ok,” “The Fiery Priest 2,” “Light Shop,” and “When the Phone Rings” secured the top five Korean dramas in January 2025.

1. “Squid Game 2”
Netflix’s original K-drama series, “Squid Game 2,” which earned a Golden Globes 2025 nomination before its release, topped the Korean drama brand reputation rankings in January. The suspenseful survival thriller Kdrama achieved a staggering brand value of 45,159,892, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 5,821,848
- Media Index: 14,305,241
- Communication Index: 7,336,552
- Community Index: 12,361,822
- Viewership Index: 5,334,429
In link analysis, the institute found the words “Excellent,” “Spread,” and “Rise” as the drama’s most related terms. In terms of keyword analysis, the institute found the words “Lee Jung Jae,” gonggi” (Korean jacks), and “Netflix” as the most popular keywords for the series. Furthermore, the show received a positive score of 92.50 percent in the positivity-negativity analysis.
2. “The Tale of Lady Ok”
Historical drama “The Tale of Lady Ok,” which continues to captivate viewers with its engaging story, rose to second place in the Korean drama brand popularity rankings in January. The enchanting series achieved a brand value of 11,841,977, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 2,718,905
- Media Index: 3,101,126
- Communication Index: 2,562,966
- Community Index: 2,408,653
- Viewership Index: 1,050,328
3. “The Fiery Priest 2”
The action-comedy Korean drama “The Fiery Priest 2,” which successfully put viewers on the edge of their seats, dropped to third place in January’s Korean drama brand reputation rankings. The series achieved a brand value of 11,602,765, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 2,667,811
- Media Index: 2,465,377
- Communication Index: 2,122,688
- Community Index: 2,876,430
- Viewership Index: 1,470,459
4. “Light Shop”
Korean horror drama “Light Shop,” which captivated the viewers with a slow-burn horror story and plot twist, secured fourth place in January’s Korean drama rankings. The drama series gained a brand value of 11,464,318 in January, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 2,088,581
- Media Index: 2,985,129
- Communication Index: 1,887,714
- Community Index: 2,516,226
- Viewership Index: 1,986,668
5 “When the Phone Rings”
Finally, the captivating Korean drama “When the Phone Rings,” which features sign language, completed the top five of January’s Korean drama rankings. The romance drama achieved a brand value of 6,466,976, with the following breakdown:

- Media Index: 1,082,496
- Communication Index: 973,793
