After previously creating disagreements in her appearance in “Knowing Bros”, Song Ji A (or Free Zia) from “Single’s Inferno” has to suffer consequences after wearing fake designer items even though she has personally written an apology.

When Song Ji A first appeared, many fans praised her dazzling beauty and gorgeous fashion style. Moreover, Song Ji A frequently displayed herself wearing prominent designer clothes and items such as Chanel and Dior during her appearance on Netflix “Single’s Inferno”.

However, apparently, her rising popularity comes with a price. Once her fame started skyrocketing, the public noticed that her designer-brand fashion style was only a ruse. In fact, many fans realized that she had been wearing fake designer items that resembled the originals. And she has been doing it repeatedly.

During the show, Song Ji A was wearing a Chanel T-shirt when she first entered the villa. While everyone first thought that she wore the Chanel T-shirt stunningly, after observing the original design on Chanel’s official website, fans realized that the two T-shirts were different in color, logo design, and pattern.

Secondly, Song Ji A once posed in a photo wearing a pink designer cardigan similar to BLACKPINK Jennie’s favorite. However, apparently, the cardigan she was wearing had different design factors from Jennie’s cardigan, including its pockets and buttons.

Furthermore, “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A previously had a series called “Monthly Ji A”, where she would showcase items she had bought during the month. During the series, fans noticed that Song Ji A had presented various designer brand items that turned out to be fake.

Firstly, she claimed to have bought a small Chanel classic bag from a department store in Busan with a price of 5,490 USD. Many fans stated that her Chanel classic bag was medium-size because the number of squares in the bag’s front quilting was 8, while the small was supposed to have 7 squares. When Song Ji A insisted that her Chanel classic bag size was small, the public became suspicious.

And finally, a fan pointed out that each Chanel bag is supposed to have the customer’s ID printed on its booklet. Yet, the bag booklet belonging to Song Ji A was missing important details such as the name and ID of the buyer, purchase date, serial number, and boutique stamp. Moreover, Song Ji A claimed to have received the bag via delivery, while Chanel Korea only offers delivery services for VVIP customers.

Aside from her Chanel bags, there are many other designer items from “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A that turned out to be fake, including a Chanel scarf and a Dior bag.

After several backlashes about her fake designer items, “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A decided to post an official apology through a handwritten letter. She posted her letter of apology on her Instagram account, saying that the criticism about her was partly true.

“Hello, this is Song Ji A.

First, I would like to apologize sincerely to everyone who felt disappointed and hurt because of me. There is currently a controversy about some clothes I wore on my social media and ‘Single’s Inferno’. And the criticism is partly true.

I am incredibly sorry.”

Along with her handwritten apology, the CEO of her Hyowon CNC agency also stated that Song Ji A has never had any ill intentions about the designer items. Moreover, she has never intended to make her viewers believe that her products are authentic.

“Ji A has never tried to appear like a wealthy person who only buys luxury goods. The company has also never tried to make her look rich. Also, Ji A has never tried to introduce fake goods as real. Currently, the remaining photos and videos are all authentic. We can prove them.”

The Suspected Reason Why “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A Wearing Fake Designer Items

Following her apology and CEO’s explanation, the media reported that industry insiders shared suspected reasons why “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A wearing fake designer items.

According to the insiders, Song Ji A had to make extreme decisions because she had to keep a specific image. And this effort was impossible without collaboration from designer brands.

The Main Problem Behind Song Ji A Fake Designer Items Controversy

Regarding Song Ji A fake designer items controversy, an industry insider and former reporter Lee Jin Ho posted his version of explanation in a YouTube video.

According to former reporter Lee Jin Ho, the main problem behind Song Ji A fake designer items controversy lies in the fact that the celebrity knew that it was a fake. The counterfeits that Song Ji A repeatedly wore in her appearances and video were poorly created with a high possibility of getting caught. However, she still wore them anyway.

“Ji A’s knock-off clothing and accessories, however, were neither S-level or A-level but rather, poorly created knock-offs.

There’s indeed a chance that her agency could have dressed Ji A in the fake designer clothes. However, it seems unlikely since reports mentioned that her agency has been paying the monthly rent for her Trimage apartment in order to upkeep her image.

In light of all that, Ji A still brought her knock-offs for the program, even though there was a high likelihood of getting caught. There’s no way she didn’t know.

Song Ji A Suffering from Consequences Despite Her Apology

Finally, despite her apology, “Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A has to suffer the consequence of her fake designer items controversy.

On January 20, a representative from “The Manager” variety show stated that they would no longer air Song Ji A’s part. Although they originally scheduled her appearance for January 29, the team decided to cancel only her footage.

After mutual discussion with the guest, we have decided not to air Song Ji A’s footage.

The January 29 broadcast will proceed normally with other cast members.
