The female Kpop group scene has recently reached its prime, showcasing all-around quality with the rise of the 4th generation.

The freshly debuted 4^th gen female Kpop trident, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans, the steady popularity of its predecessors aespa and (G)I-dle, as well as the numerous previews of the overwhelming quality from upcoming group BABYMONSTER have promised a bright future for these 4th gen rookies.

Suddenly, Kpop nugu group FIFTY FIFTY skyrocketed, surpassing the popularity of these prominent groups from major companies.

Debuted in 2022 from a small entertainment company, ATTRAKT, FIFTY FIFTY has risen to the top, breaking records in both national and international music charts for weeks with its popular song, CUPID. They have become the 4^th gen dark horse with an auspicious future.

Still, after getting popular with CUPID and the upcoming song for Barbie the Movie, FIFTY FIFTY, and its members suddenly “disappeared”.

On June 23, FIFTY FIFTY’s agency ATTRAKT updated the public about the Kpop group’s current state and whereabouts. Unexpectedly, the Kpop skyrocketing dark horse had been facing health issues and a legal battle.

What Happened: Members Health Issue + Legal Battle

In the agency’s official statement reported by Newsen, ATTRAKT explained in detail that FIFTY FIFTY had been less active due to health issues.

According to the company, after FIFTY FIFTY got popular with CUPID, one of its members showed medical symptoms. Therefore, the company discussed with the member and her family and began treatment with their consent. As a result, this member of FIFTY FIFTY underwent surgery on May 2 and would need approximately 1 – 2 months for a full recovery.

As a result, ATTRAKT decided to halt FIFTY FIFTY’s activities and promotional schedule.

“We’re aware that fans are worried and curious why our artist is not promoting during a period when they should be actively promoting.
Honestly, one member had shown medical symptoms. Therefore, after discussion and consent from the member and the family, she began treatment and underwent surgery on May 2.
However, the doctor’s diagnosis stated she would need over a month and potentially two months for recovery. As a result, we halted the artists’ promotions. With the judgment that health is most important, we provided a break for the other members as well.”

Unexpectedly, during this inevitable break, ATTRAKT stated that external forces were trying to approach FIFTY FIFTY and tempted the members to violate their contract with the company. Therefore, the company vowed to fight the irresponsible forces and protect its artists.
