Coronavirus becomes a serious issue for everyone now. KPop world has been impacted by this new kind of virus. Concerts have been canceled, some KPop idols put themselves in quarantine, and some others have donated some amount of money to organizations to help preventing the virus spreading. As individual, there are also things we need to pay attention to slow down the super-spreader, such as how we sneeze or our “sneeze manner”.
How Should We Sneeze?
As most do, when we sneeze, we tend to cover our mouth (and nose) with our palms. However, this is not the proper way. When we do that, the germs (and viruses) will stick on our palms. Then when we touch things, like money, phone, laptop, shopping cart, elevator button, or even handle in public transportation, we will leave the germs (and viruses) on those things. Other people who touch it after us will get the bacteria (and viruses). That is quite disgusting and not healthy, isn’t it?
KPop Idols “Sneeze Manner”
Recently, people are talking about how polite, and considerate ex-Wanna One Kim Jaehwan and NCT Jaehyun are. Netizens notice how they sneeze correctly. They cover their mouth and nose with the inner part of the elbow. This way, the germs (and viruses) won’t be transferred to the things they touch.
As in Kingsman movie say, “Manner maketh man,” this is what makes Kim Jaehwan and Jaehyun become KPop idols. They do “sneeze manner” not only these recent times, but it also has been their habits they do all the time, including on radio shows, interviews, award shows, and performances.
Their “sneeze manner” has met the standard of Korea’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) for preventing the spread of germs and viruses.

Korea National Institute of Health Recommendations for “Sneeze Manner”
As stated in Tuberculosis Zero from the Korea National Institute of Health, it would be better if we use handkerchief or tissue to cover our mouth and nose when we sneeze. If we don’t have a handkerchief or tissue, we can do like what Jaehwan and Jaheyun do.
By doing the correct “sneeze manner”, hopefully, we can slow down the spreading of coronavirus in whenever we live. Thanks to the KPop idols, like Jaehwan and Jaehyun, who have inspired us for the “sneeze manner”.
