BTS great leader, RM, and HYBE CEO finally speak up with a complete statement and explanation regarding the BTS group hiatus. Check out the following details, proving that BTS is definitely NOT breaking up or disbanding!
BTS is NOT Breaking Up / Disbanding: Leader RM and HYBE CEO Speaks Up with “Hiatus” Explanation & Statement
There has been too much commotion regarding the BTS group hiatus announcement. With no regard for the full context of BTS hiatus explanation in their 2022 Festa anniversary dinner, rumors begin spreading that BTS will be breaking up and disbanding to pursue a solo career.
But that is NOT true at all.
Immediately after the video went viral on June 15, the global music industry experienced massive shock, resulting in a 25% crash in HYBE’s shares value due to panic selling. That is why both BTS Leader RM and HYBE CEO Park Ji Won finally stepped up with a complete explanation about the group’s hiatus statement.
HYBE CEO Park Ji Won Statement about “Hiatus”: “BTS is NOT Even Considering Disbanding”
Following the preliminary statement from BIGHIT Music about the BTS group hiatus announcement, CEO Park Ji Won gave his explanation to all HYBE employees.
On June 16, Korean media reported that HYBE CEO Park Ji Won sent an email to all HYBE employees. In the email, the CEO stated that portions of the BTS Festa anniversary dinner were taken out of context and wrongly interpreted.
“Portions of the video are being blown out of proportion and interpreted incorrectly, leading to the spreading of false information.”
HYBE CEO Park Ji Won.
Further in the statement, HYBE CEO Park Ji Won also provided an explanation that BTS is NOT even considering disbanding. There is nothing on their agenda about BTS breaking up for solo career; the members will keep working on their group activities simultaneously with their solo projects.
“BTS is not even considering disbanding the team at all, and there is nothing going on regarding any process of disbanding the group.”
HYBE CEO Park Ji Won.
Apparently, the plans for BTS members’ solo projects have been going on for a while. And these plans are additions to BTS existing group activities. Since these plans for solo projects will take up some of the members’ time, it also means a natural reduction in the group schedules. That is why BTS will appear to have fewer activities as a group.
After all, unlike other Kpop groups, BTS members have been experiencing very few opportunities to pursue what they wanted to do primarily due to their packed schedule as a group. Therefore, this time, BTS will be expanding its scope of projects and expertise broader into the things that the members do best.
A COMPLETE “Hiatus” Explanation from BTS Leader, RM
In addition to HYBE CEO’s statement, BTS Leader RM finally speaks up about BTS breaking up / disbanding rumors.
BTS RM stated in his explanation that he had expected the wrongful interpretations regarding the group’s hiatus announcement. However, even when he had braced himself for it, the reality was still disappointing.
According to RM, what happened during BTS 2022 Festa dinner anniversary was BTS members being completely honest and open towards their soulmates, ARMY. There was nothing hidden between the lines. It was simply their own confessions about their feelings to ARMY. And at the same time, he believed ARMY would understand what the members meant.
Unfortunately, the people outside ARMY may have trouble understanding what the members mean during the video. And while they really mean to expand their scope of expertise, people started assuming that BTS is disbanding / breaking up just because they were crying when they talked about working on solo projects.
“There is nothing to ‘read between the lines,’ in that broadcast. We were being completely open and honest about everything we’ve been feeling.
And in the process of being open and honest about our feelings, we ended up shedding some tears.
I have no doubt in my heart that ARMYS, who know us for who we are, will understand all of that with great generosity. We meant what we said in the broadcast as is, with no other message to it.”

NOT Breaking Up! BTS Embarks to a Brand-New Era
Finally, as mentioned in the explanation about their hiatus from BTS RM and HYBE CEO statement, BTS is NOT breaking up! Despite being open to future possibilities, BTS members are not even considering disbanding.
Instead, the group will begin a brand-new era, where the members will explore further what they can do best via solo projects. And while the members are working on the solo projects, they will also work on group activities simultaneously. So while it means that they will refrain from having a comeback for a while, we can safely expect 7 brand-new albums from each BTS member, starting from J-Hope, who will possibly release his solo album this mid-July.
BTS has announced the start of there 'Chapter – 2' with the upcoming release of their solo albums & collaborations with various artists, and the first one is J Hope. He will be releasing his solo album ( will be official) in the mid or end of July! #BTS #JHOPE #BTSARMY pic.twitter.com/rsThg8XbYK
