HYBE “Purple City” Project
BTS agency, HYBE, is also holding their own Purple City Project. This event extends the BTS purple experience into a lifestyle from accommodations, food and beverages, and entertainment to connect all the participants with an exceptional experience.
Starting on October 5 at LCT Tower Haeundae, the company holds a special exhibition using BTS latest comeback album, “Proof”. This exhibition is running simultaneously in Busan and Seoul. However, the Busan event will be available until November 8.
They will also collaborate with Lotte World Adventure Busan and turn it into a BTS-themed amusement park with the “Purple Lights Up” event starting from October 14 – 31.
Along with the above events, Paradise Hotel Busan will also hold a special party on the day of BTS concert. Starting from before the concert, the hotel will be holding a pre-event at its outdoor garden, where you can enjoy various BTS video content along with Busan’s night landscape in the background.
And finally, HYBE will also offer official merchandise for WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN. And they will be available in official booths around Asiad Main Stadium and the Busan Port International Terminal on October 14 to 15. But if you miss the chance, you can still find this merchandise at Lotte Department Store’s Busan main branch until October 16.
Beware of Fake Merchandise!
Following the upcoming BTS concert for World Expo 2030 Busan bidding process, fake merchandise started to circulate near the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. Therefore, some officials are taking action to make sure that the public pays no attention and does not participate in circulating fake merchandise.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced on October 9 to hunt down fake merchandise circulation. Along with the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency, KIPO will open booths near the venue to promote awareness about these counterfeit products.
At the same time, HYBE/BIGHIT also announced that they would take serious action regarding the fake merchandise.
“We will conduct an investigation and on-site inspection for counterfeit products to protect our artists’ rights. This inspection will occur at and around the venue of the WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN. And it will happen in conjunction with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
Therefore, we ask all fans to ensure not to be adversely affected by purchasing the above-related products if you plan to visit the concert.”

Is Busan Highly Relying on HYBE and BTS for Their World Expo 2030 Bidding Process?
Indeed, there is no greater power than BTS and its loyal soulmate, ARMY, in the global music industry. However, the question is, will Busan only rely on BTS’s power to help them become a successful host for World Expo 2030?
As we know, countless issues have occurred during the preparation process for BTS WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN.
Starting from the appointment itself, some fans were concerned about how the government officials treated BTS during the ceremony. Then, there was the problem with the venue selection that caused fans to worry about their safety issue. Thankfully, HYBE stepped in and resolved this problem by changing the BTS Busan concert venue.
Along with the above issues, there were concerning questions regarding the concert’s budgeting. And apparently, the finance of BTS upcoming concert in Busan entirely fell under HYBE and various brands and companies who participated as the main sponsors. The companies believe that supporting Busan in bidding for World Expo 2030 is part of their duty to serve their country. Therefore, Busan government was merely sponsoring in the background.
And let us not forget that the South Korean public and the government are still torn in various opinions regarding BTS military enlistment. We all know that BTS must undergo various massive homework, including their immense tasks as World Expo 2030 Busan bidding ambassador.
However, while the official decision is in December, the South Korean government insists that BTS must go to official military enlistment. And it happened even when they named BTS as their official negotiation ambassador for World Expo 2030 Busan.
Busan Mayor is Confident in Their Ability as World Expo 2030 Host Based on BTS Upcoming Concert
Despite all the above issues, do you believe that Busan will be able to host World Expo 2030? After all, World Expo is the largest event in the whole world, with the longest duration of around 6 months. Previously, Dubai managed to successfully hold the event in 2020, in which Stray Kids and various Kpop artists partipated.
Knowing its fierce competition with the other three major cities: Odesa (Ukraine), Rome (Italy), and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), it seems that Busan is relying completely upon and putting all the pressures on BTS and HYBE’s shoulders this time.
Still, Busan Mayor Park Heong Joong told Korea Times on Tuesday that he’s confident in Busan’s ability to hold World Expo 2030. He stated that since the city can hold BTS concert on such a large scale in the shortest amount of time, he believes that Busan will pull off World Expo 2030 successfully.
“100,000 people are expected to flock to Busan around the day of the concert. So, after pulling off this large-scale event through water-tight preparation, I want the whole world to know that Busan can successfully pull off Expo 2030 as well.”
Park Heong Joong, Mayor of Busan.
The city government officials meeting on October 10 revealed that Busan would set up a main control tower near Asiad Main Stadium. This control tower will operate from October 14 to oversee BTS Busan concert and deal with any emergency. Busan will also deploy 1,000 public servants and 200 city workers as a guide for the public, while stationing 200 interpreters throughout the city.
And finally, the organizers vowed to monitor local accommodations and eateries to ensure they do not overcharge visitors.
Busan is going on full force!
Do You Think They Will Make It?
So, do you think Busan will make it as the official host of World Expo 2030?
It is without a doubt that BTS upcoming concert will be completely successful. However, do you think this concert is enough to measure Busan’s ability to hold the world’s largest and most historical event? That is especially knowing that the pressure of this concert falls mostly under BTS, HYBE, and all the companies involved.
