KARA brand new album “MOVE AGAIN” is undeniably special as it is their first comeback in seven years. Moreover, the Kpop legend also celebrates their 15th anniversary with this album, which makes it more nostalgic.
KARA Released a Sentimental Album “MOVE AGAIN” for Their 15th Anniversary
The girl group originally debuted as a quartet in March 2007 with their first studio album, “The First Blooming.” But then Kim Sung-hee decided to leave the group. Soon after, two new members, Goo Hara and Jiyoung, joined the group, and they returned as a quintet.
However, at the beginning of 2014, Nicole and Jiyoung decided to part ways with the group. On May 2014, DSP Media launched a reality TV show called “Kara Project,” resulting in Jiyoung joining the group. Unfortunately, the turbulence for the girl group didn’t stop there. On November 2019, KARA member Goo Hara died, and her case brought worldwide attention to sexual crimes against women in South Korea.
It is indeed a special occasion to see Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji reunited for their 15th anniversary album “MOVE AGAIN.” Fans also noticed in one of the image teasers they have one empty seat at the dining table, which was believed to be for late member Goo Hara.

A Heart-touching message in “Happy Hour”
The Kpop legend kicks off the new album with a nostalgic harmonious track, “Happy Hour.” As soon as we listen to this song, we can feel the sincerity of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji. It feels like this song is specially dedicated to Kamilia (KARA fandom name), who has been loving them for years.
“Even after this time
We’ll be together forever
It’s our dream, sweet melody*.”
*KARA means sweet melody
Feel the 2000s bop with “When I Move”
The title track, “When I Move,” gives the heavy 2000s bops vibes. It is the perfect single to celebrate KARA 15th anniversary. Although it has been years since their debut, Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji slay with their stunning visuals in “When I Move” music video.
“Shout It Out” and feel the 2nd Gen Energy
The dance-pop track “Shout It Out” brings out the 2nd generation energy and spirit. The bass rhythm and the group members’ vocals throw us back to the 2000s.
KARA gives you “Oxygen” to move on
To close the album, KARA gives us a very soft and heartfelt “Oxygen.” When we listen to this song, it feels like we are brought back to the journey of the 2nd generation Kpop girl group with all the ups and downs. “Oxygen” somehow gives us the strength to move on no matter what had happened. Moreover, this ballad is perfect for OST.
“It was very hard,
It’s okay now
I’ll go one step ahead and hold your hand
You can lean on it a little and breath,
Just like you did to me
I will hug your pain.”
