OMEGA X CEO Abuse Scandal Brief Explanation
Starting from October last year, horrible cases of OMEGA X abuse and mistreatment has become the headline of the Korean Entertainment industry.
Reports revealed that SPIRE Entertainment and its former CEO Kang Seong Hee had been mistreating OMEGA X members through abusive behaviors, including violence, verbal abuse, public commotion, to even sexual harassment.
Then, in November 2022, OMEGA X conducted a press conference, revealing all the horrifying treatments and abuse they had received from the company’s former CEO.
OMEGA X Press Conference
According to the members, SPIRE Entertainment CEO Kang Seong Hee mistreated OMEGA X members and practiced horrifying power abuse. One of OMEGA X members, Kim Jaehan, even revealed that the former CEO often forced him to drink after practice.
During the drinking session, the members experienced sexual harassment, having their face, hands, and thighs inappropriately touched at an extremely close distance that they could feel the other’s breathing on their faces.
“CEO Kang called me and forced me to drink after practice that involved sexual harassment.
She touched my face and hand. Then, after the drinking was over, she called me through KakaoTalk and lashed out. She said that if we wanted to continue to be idols, we had to crawl.
Then, she also said she would commit suicide, so the members received therapy.
We only wanted to be respected as people who love music.”

Furthermore, OMEGA X members shared that the company CEO was kind in the beginning. But over time, she changed and negatively influenced their lives and values. The CEO continuously abused and gaslighted OMEGA X members, threatening them to stop being an idol if they did not join the drinking session.
Since it was all their second chance in the Korean entertainment industry, they wanted to endure to retain their opportunities.
“We were afraid we would lose our last chance to succeed as an artist if we didn’t endure and kept quiet about all this.”

What did the Court Say about the Lawsuit?
After that, OMEGA X lawyer announced during the press conference that they would file an injunction lawsuit.
According to SBS report, the court decided that it would be difficult to maintain a normal contractual relationship between OMEGA X and the company. The court believed that if OMEGA X continued their exclusive contract, the company would prolong the restrictions on the members’ independent entertainment activities.
Not only that, the court also believed that former CEO Kang Seong Hee’s abusive behaviors were never accidental. That is why they acknowledged that the company had damaged the trust relationship by violating OMEGA X members’ rights and threatening them.
“The court has raised the alarm over the brutality of an agency violating young people’s dreams. We all welcome this decision that is based on common sense and with huge respect for human dignity.”
