Amidst the rising fame of the R-rated Korean drama Hit the Spot, there is a shocking controversy happening behind the scene about its sensational nude scene. Check out the below report for the complete details about Hit the Spotnude scene controversy.
HIT THE SPOT Drama Controversy: Cast Accused Director of Forcing a Nude Scene
Money Today reported on February 20 that a Hit the Spot drama actress had accused the director of power abuse. According to the actress, she was forced to take off all her clothes despite only agreeing to wear underwear in the first place.
The production team only told her right before filming that they had decided to raise the degree of nudity in the drama. So she didn’t have much time to think the decision through.
Moreover, the Hit the Spot drama director told her they would re-cast her character if she refused to be nude from her upper body to her behind.
“The reason I didn’t want to take my clothes off wasn’t because of the many people on set. I was not embarrassed about that.
I was just afraid that if I took off my clothes in this scene, I would only receive offers of characters who took off their clothes from then on.”
Actress A (Yeonji)
However, actress A (who then revealed to be actress Yeonji) decided to do the scene, hoping for more opportunities. After all, she played one of the main characters in the episode’s issue in the drama. During the 40-minute episode duration, she appeared for 4 minutes; the nude scene took 2 minutes.
“I filmed the scene after signing a waiver stating that the director had explained the scene’s contents to me.
I didn’t get to watch the scene for the second time. Yes, it may not be a major Netflix drama, and it scored only 3 out of 5. Still, this drama is the only one in the world that matters to me. That is why I’m raising the issue.”

Clarification Statement from The Production Team
Immediately after the nude scene controversy went viral, the Hit the Spot drama production team released a clarification.
In the statement, the production team only explained that actress Yeonji did not feel any regret in filming Hit the Spot nude scene. The team further explained that Yeonji’s statement did not imply any power abuse on set but didn’t explain why there was no earlier explanation about the nude scene to the actress.
“We have checked, and the actress stated she didn’t regret filming the nude scene. However, she was surprised by the various responses because she didn’t mean to insinuate that there was power abuse on set.
We cannot disclose why we didn’t inform her about the scene sooner. However, the actress did not take much time to decide.”

Yeonji’s Further Explanation on Korean Drama HIT THE SPOT Nude Scene Controversy
Following the Hit the Spot drama production team’s statement, Yeonji released another clarification on February 21 via Instagram.
In her post, Yeonji explained that she did not regret making such a decision and participated in the drama. However, she had to delete her original statement. Yeonji stated that there was a misunderstanding, and she didn’t want to cause any negative effect on the project.
“Hello, this is actress Yeonji.
My Instagram and Brunch notifications which were usually quiet suddenly kept ringing last night.
When I checked what it was about, I saw that my statement about a recent project appeared in another online community.
I feel that there’s a misunderstanding, that is why I’m writing this.
It was my own decision to participate in the project involving a nude scene. And I don’t have any regrets.
Therefore, please don’t let anyone suffer because of my writing.
I decided to delete my previous statement because I’m worried that it may harm the project in which I participated.
Thank you for all the support you’ve always given to me.”

Your Thoughts?
Finally, despite the actress’ statement, Korean netizens believe that Hit the Spot nude scene controversy was indeed problematic.
It doesn’t matter whether the actress regrets her decisions, but the issue was that the production team did not inform her sooner. Instead, they only notified her right before the scene and pressured her to make such an important decision right away.
