BTS Jimin Debuts at #1 Billboard Hot 100 with LIKE CRAZY Solo Track
On April 3, the global music chart Billboard reported that BTS Jimin had finally made his first-ever debut at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 with his recent solo track, Like Crazy.
According to the report, Billboard calculated its Hot 100 chart based on the number of sales during its tracking week. Since its first release on March 24, BTS Jimin Like Crazy had recorded a total of 254,000 song downloads and CD single sales. And not only that but the song also reached 10 million streams and 64,000 audience impressions for radio airplay during its first week: between March 24 to 30.
Moreover, Jimin Like Crazy Billboard debut also recorded the highest sales in a single week. Counting all the 7 remixes he had released during the week, Jimin had surpassed Taylor Swift’s previous sales achievement with her Anti-Hero song.
Like Crazy is a song within BTS Jimin solo album, FACE, which also entered at #2 on the top Billboard albums chart.

The FIRST BTS Member and South Korean Soloist to Ever Reach #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100
What is most impressive about BTS Jimin Like Crazy debut at #1 Billboard Hot 100 was the fact that he is the first BTS member to ever reach such an achievement. And as if that was not enough, Jimin is also the first-ever South Korean soloist to take the throne at #1 Billboard Hot 100.
The previous South Korean soloist to almost reached such achievement was PSY. However, PSY managed to only reach as high as #2 with his Gangnam Style song in 2012.
Today, BTS Jimin Like Crazy breaks that achievement and marks himself as the first South Korean soloist to sit on the throne at the #1 Billboard Hot 100 chart.
How BTS Members Responded to Jimin’s LIKE CRAZY Billboard Debut
Finally, following Jimin debut at the #1 Billboard Hot 100 chart, other BTS members celebrated his achievement with public congratulatory messages.
BTS RM and j-hope specifically brought the achievement to their Instagram Stories.
BTS RM tagged Jimin while posting the capture of his achievement and expressed his pride towards his bandmate. What’s also worth noticing was that RM was a co-writer of Jimin Like Crazy solo track. Therefore, this achievement also marks RM’s fourth time placing at #1 Billboard Hot 100 as a writer.
“I’m proud, @j.m.”
BTS RM.
At the same time, BTS j-hope also posted a capture of Jimin’s name on the Billboard chart. The BTS main dancer added a row of purple hearts while expressing his congratulatory message.
