BLACKPINK Jisoo finally released her solo album on March 31, with two tracks Flower and All Eyes On Me. BLINKs have been waiting for Jisoo’s solo album for years as she is the last member to have a solo album. Here are some facts about Jisoo’s solo album ME.
Facts about ME, Jisoo’s Solo Album
1. Two tracks with different colors
Jisoo’s solo debut album consists of two tracks: the title track Flower and B-side track All Eyes On Me. While both of the tracks are worth listening to, they interestingly have different colors. Listening to Jisoo’s solo album ME will be your best 6 minutes in life!
2. Classy Flower is Jisoo’s new life
Flower sounds classy, bougie, and rapturous with snappy, plucked-string instrumental music. In almost three minutes, the song offers Jisoo’s signature low vocals. The singer manages to deliver a compelling hook during the chorus.
Also, with the poetic lyrics of Flower, the song tells how the singer changes throughout the lyrics. Despite the pain of a breakup, she doesn’t seek revenge. Instead, she is reborn. She was as nice as “A-B-C, do-re-mi,” but no longer. “That look in the eye changed completely perhaps this is also a side of me,” she sings over plucked notes and bass-y chimes.
The singer can shrug off her old cocoon, being reborn, leaving the pain behind, and “I fly away like a blue butterfly.”
3. Punchy All Eyes On Me
Meanwhile, the B-side track All Eyes On Me is more upbeat and punchy. The EDM-backed song showcases Jisoo’s distinctive voice. Although All Eyes On Me is not as poetic as the title track of Jisoo’s solo album, it is still intriguing. When Jisoo sings, “Hold your breath and watch me, I’m a movie,” it promotes self-confidence within the singer.
4. Showing the new side of Jisoo
“It was a fun journey to find the music that I can do best and that only I can do. I hope the listeners will discover a new side of me.”
