Many Kpop idols released a new album this year, but some didn’t. Here are the top 10 best-selling female Kpop solo singers with the most album sales in 2020, whether releasing a new album or not.

10. Chungha
After the group I.O.I disbandment in January 2017, Chungha decided to start her career as a solo singer. Her decision seems to be the right one as she is one of the top 10 best-selling female Kpop singers in 2020. This year she released Maxi Single album, with the title track Play. She has sold 20.2k albums and planned to release her first full-length album, Querencia, in early 2021.
9. Eunji
Debuting with the EP Dream and the title track Hopefully Sky, Eunji is well-known for her excellent vocal. Since the debut, she has released 4 Eps in total, with the latest one on July 15 this year, Simple, and the title track Away. With the newest EP, Eunji has sold 26.8k albums this year.
8.YooA
Bon Voyage was the first solo album of YooA outside the group Oh My Girl. Released on September 7, her debut album has won The Show. Besides that, she also released an OST for the movie Over the Moon. As a result, she has made about 27k album sales this year.
7. Jennie
Debuting in November 2018, Jennie’s album Solo, with the title track of the same name, was a massive hit. Even though she didn’t release any new solo album this year, she still manages to be one of the Kpop female singers with the most album sales in 2020. She has sold 27.7k albums during 2020, which is really impressive for a 2018 album!
6. Baek Yerin
Initially in group 15&, Baek Yerin decided to debut as a Kpop solo singer in November 2015. Her solo debut album was an EP Frank with a title track Across the Universe. Though it was quite a success, she left JYP Entertainment in September 2019 and started her own label, Blue Vinyl. Her most recent album tellusaboutyourself was just released on December 10. So far, Baek Yerin has hit 31.8 total album sales in 2020.
5. Taeyeon
Debuting in Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon finally decided to be a solo artist in October 2015 with the EP / and the song of the same title. Since her solo debut, she has won several awards, such as Best Female Artist in both MAMA 2015 and Golden Disk Awards 2016. Her newest album, What Do I Call You, was released on December 15. In total, Taeyeon has sold 59k albums in 2020.
4. Hwasa
One of MAMAMOO members, Hwasa, started her solo debut in February 2019 with the single Twit. In 2020, Hwasa released her first EP, Maria, with a title track of the same name. Her solo album was ranked #7 in Billboard’s Worlds Album chart. In 2020, Hwasa has sold 68.8 k albums.
3. IU
Debuting originally as a female Kpop singer at the age of 15, IU now becomes #3 female Kpop solo singers with the most album sales in 2020. Since her debut, she has released 5 full-length studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 5 single albums, and 9 mini-albums. Her most recent album was Love Poem, with the title song of the same name. Though she didn’t release any new album in 2020 (only a new single Eight with BTS Suga), IU managed to sell 83.8k album units in 2020.
2. Solar
Coming from the same group as Hwasa, Solar made her solo debut this year on April 23. Her debut album Spit It Out, and the title track of the same name won her her first music show award on SBS MTV’s The Show. As a new solo artist, she has successfully made 84.6k album sales this year.
1. Moonbyul
Another MAMAMOO goddess who has gained success through a solo way is Moonbyul. The MAMAMOO rapper debuted her solo career with the single Selfish (featuring Red Velvet Seulgi). Moonbyul released her first EP, Dark Side of the Moon, with the title track Eclipse, on February 14 this year. She also released a reissued version of the album called 門OON on May 29. Moonbyul has sold 116.2k total albums in 2020.
