“Genie, Make a Wish” (“다 이루어질지니”)

  • Premiere Date: October 3, 2025
  • Cast: Kim Woo-bin, Bae Suzy, Ahn Eun-jin, Noh Sang-hyun
  • Where to Watch: Netflix

~When Magic Meets Heart~

Netflix’s new fantasy romance, “Genie, Make a Wish,” invites you into a world where a moody genie meets a woman who feels nothing. After a thousand years of isolation, Genie (Kim Woo-bin) bursts from his lamp full of emotional extremes. His new master, Ki Ka-young (Bae Suzy), on the other hand, has grown used to suppressing her feelings.

As their three-wish contract unfolds, we watch a dance of opposites: a super-emotional spirit coaxing a stoic woman to feel again. While the premise is whimsical, the tale explores what you might wish for if you could have anything.

Writer Kim Eun-sook, known for “Mr. Sunshine,” penned the drama’s script. Aside from a fantastic story, it perfectly shows both fairy-tale wonder and modern Seoul.

“Would You Marry Me?” (“우주메리미”)

  • Premiere Date: October 10, 2025
  • Cast: Choi Woo-sik, Jung So-min, Seo Bum-june
  • Where to Watch: SBS, Disney+, Viki, and Kocowa

~A Fake Marriage with Real Stakes~

SBS’s Korean drama “Would You Marry Me?” is a light rom-com with a captivating premise. It asks: What would you do if your dream house required you to be married?

Designer Yoo Me-ri (Jung So-min) wins a luxury townhouse in a contest for newlyweds. But unexpectedly, her engagement crumbles when her fiancé cheats.

Panicked, she strikes a 90-day contract with a bakery heir (Choi Woo-sik) who shares her ex’s name. They’ll pretend to be married long enough for her to claim the house.

Viewers are drawn into the tension of keeping up appearances—from awkward family dinners to run-ins with the ex—as the series humorously questions whether a fake relationship can turn real.

“Typhoon Family” (“태풍상사“)

  • Premiere Date: October 11, 2025
  • Cast: Lee Joon-ho, Kim Min-ha, Sung Dong-il, Kim Ji-young
  • Where to Watch: tvN, TVING, Netflix

~Resilience Amid Financial Storms~

Set in 1997, during South Korea’s financial crisis, Korean drama “Typhoon Family” follows Kang Tae-poong (Lee Joon-ho), the wealthy son of a trading company owner. When the economy collapses and his father dies, Tae-poong’s easy life is turned upside down.

To keep his father’s beloved company, he takes charge of the family business, determined to save it alongside a hardworking bookkeeper, Oh Mi-seon (Kim Min-ha).

Together, they fight debt, corporate rivals, and social stigma. The drama portrays the courage of generations and the power of community during hard times.

“Marie and Her Three Daddies” (“마리와 별난 아빠들”)

  • Premiere Date: October 13, 2025
  • Cast: Ha Seung-ri, Hyun Woo, Park Eun-hye, Ryu Jin
  • Where to Watch: KBS1, KBS World

~A Mystery of Love and Identity~

If you think daily dramas are predictable, the 120-episode “Marie and Her Three Daddies” might surprise you. The story centers on obstetrics intern Kang Marie (Ha Seung-ri).

She finds out that her birth father might be one of three different men. This premise hooks viewers who love family secrets and romance. The question isn’t just “Who’s her biological dad?” but “What defines a father?”

In a culture where bloodlines are revered, this series invites you to consider the strength of emotional bonds and chosen family as Marie unravels her complex past.

“The Dream Life of Mr. Kim” (“서울 자가에 대기업 다니는 김 부장 이야기”)

  • Premiere Date: October 25, 2025
  • Cast: Ryu Seung-ryong, Myung Se-bin, Cha Kang-yoon
  • Where to Watch: JTBC, Netflix

~Rediscovering Self After Success~

What happens when you reach every milestone society expects, only to lose it all? JTBC’s Korean drama “The Dream Life of Mr. Kim” explores this question.

Kim Nak-soo (Ryu Seung-ryong) has spent 25 years climbing the corporate ladder. Then life turns upside down. He got demoted, his home is threatened, and his wife decides to pursue her own dreams.

From the creators of “Sky Castle,” the series balances humor and heart. It shows perfectly in Nak-soo’s journey from stability to self-discovery. This story reminds us that starting over can be unexpectedly releasing.

“Spirit Fingers” (“스피릿 핑거스”)

  • Premiere Date: October 29, 2025
  • Cast: Park Ji-hu, Choi Bo-min, Jo Joon-young, Park Yoo-na
  • Where to Watch: TVING, Viki

~Finding Color in Everyday Life~

The new Korean drama “Spirit Fingers” is a delightful coming-of-age story for those who crave warmth and nostalgia. The 12-episode series follows shy high-schooler Song Woo-yeon (Park Ji-hu), who feels invisible at home and school.

Everything changes when a handsome boy invites her to join an art club called Spirit Fingers. The club becomes a safe place for Woo-yeon and its members. Each member can show their true “color,” which represents their personality, and learn to express themselves.

The drama invites anyone who has ever felt overlooked to think about their true color.

The Soul of October 2025

Even though these stories have different plots, they all share one thing in common: self-discovery.

Each character reaches a point where they have to stop and think. They have to figure out who they really are and what truly matters to them.

It doesn’t matter how they get there—whether it’s a magical wish, a fake marriage, or a shy teenager finding her voice for the first time. The message is the same. Each story beautifully explores the universal human experiences of growth, love, and finding the strength to bounce back.
