As Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generation and Culture, the President of South Korea, Moon Jae In, has bestowed BTS with exclusive diplomatic passports. These passports showed that BTS members were on duty not as ordinary singers but as South Korean diplomats.

After completing their diplomatic trips in New York: addressing world leaders at the 76^th United Nations General Assembly and visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, BTS members passed their diplomatic passport to their company, HYBE. Thus, on September 29, HYBE INSIGHT official Twitter announced that ARMY would be able to see the passports in a special exhibition.

3 Inside Information About BTS Diplomatic Passports Limited Display at HYBE INSIGHT Exhibition

BTS Diplomatic Passport Cover

Unlike regular passports of South Korea, the cover of BTS diplomatic passports is in red. After completing their official duty for the first time, we can see official stickers adorned on the passport cover. These stickers showed that BTS members had been fully vaccinated and received a PCR test prior to their trips.

Inside the Passport

Furthermore, the exhibition also displayed what’s inside BTS diplomatic passports. We can see beautiful South Korean unique patterns displayed on the inside of the cover and BTS members photos on the other side. Then, the next page shows that BTS has completed their duty as Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generation and Culture.

BTS Must Return the Passport After Completing their Duty

Finally, a diplomatic passport is different from the regular one. This passport holds the power of no-visa travels to 199 countries and diplomatic immunity for the holders. Therefore, BTS members cannot use them for personal trips like a vacation or tour. These passports can only be used for leaving and entering the country under diplomatic duties.

Since BTS has completed their duty as Special Presidential Envoy, they must return their diplomatic passports to the South Korean government. And that is why the HYBE INSIGHT exhibition had to shorten the limited display of BTS diplomatic passports from 6 days to only 2 days, from September 29 – 30.

The passports will be available for viewing until Thursday, September 30. We apologize for this change in the exhibition schedule.
