On January 14, SM Entertainment released an official statement that SHINee Lee Taemin will be spending the rest of his military service as a public service worker before his discharge date. Therefore, starting from January 14, the SHINee Lee Taemin will transfer from the military band to supplementary service.

Lee Taemin Has Been Suffering from Panic Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression – And It’s Getting Worse

Furthermore, in the official statement, SM Entertainment finally revealed that SHINee Lee Taemin had suffered rom depression and anxiety even before his military service. That is why the SHINee maknae continues to receive counseling and treatments even during his military enlistment.

Unfortunately, the depression and anxiety symptoms have started worsening lately. Therefore, the Military Manpower Administration believed it was impossible for Taemin to continue both the military and treatment simultaneously.

“Due to depression and anxiety symptoms that Taemin has been suffering from before his military service, he continued receiving treatment and therapy even while serving his duty in the military. However, because the symptoms recently worsened, the Military Manpower Administration decided continuing military life and treatment at the same time was impossible. Therefore, Taemin will be transferring to supplementary service.”

What Has Possibly Happened?

Due to SM Entertainment mentioning in their official statement that SHINee Lee Taemin depression symptoms have worsened recently, fans couldn’t help but wonder whether something had happened that may cause a trigger. However, the company has no statement mentioning any specific cases or causes.

However, sometime in August 2021, SHINee fans discussed a possibility that Taemin may have experienced uncomfortable situation. According to the rumor spread on Twitter, there was a time where Taemin had to change his showering schedule because everyone stared at him during shower time.

Indeed, fans were concerned whether this was one of the causes that triggered Taemin depression and anxiety to worsen. However, nothing has been confirmed. In fact, the next month in September 2021, SHINee Taemin went public for the first time after his military enlistment. Once during a military promotional video. And another one during an interview with the Military Manpower Administration with big smiles on his face.

When Is SHINee Lee Taemin Military Discharge Date?
