“Reborn Rich” new drama starring Song Joong Ki crates another controversy by being under fire for the overuse of face filters. But is it true that “Reborn Rich” had been abusing filters to make Song Joong Ki look more youthful? Check out the following complete reports to see what really happened behind Song Joong Ki face filter in “Reborn Rich”.
“Reborn Rich” New Drama Starring Song Joong Ki Under Fire for Overuse of Face Filters
The skyrocketing reputation of “Reborn Rich” new drama starring Song Joong Ki apparently comes with a heavy price. The higher the drama ratings, the clearer all the flaws and mistakes happening throughout the scenes.
After the previous issues of disrespectful interpretation, “Reborn Rich” new drama is under another controversy for overusing face filters to make Song Joong Ki look much more youthful.
Korean media reported last week that using excessive face filters to make Song Joong Ki look younger had disrupted the viewers’ immersion in “Reborn Rich” new drama.
However, this controversy had, in fact, raised the popularity of Song Joong Ki new drama and the viewership ratings went from a good start at 6% to an impressive 10% within just three episodes.
What Really Happened?
“Reborn Rich” tells the story of the main character who gets reborn as the youngest son of a conglomerat’s family. Similar to “Again My Life”, this storyline involves a reset of the main character’s story to live their life differently.
However, the difference lies in the fact that “Again My Life” main character gets a second chance to reset his own life. On the other hand, Song Joong Ki’s character in “Reborn Rich” new drama gets another chance to live a different life as the maknae son of the conglomerate family who had framed, betrayed, and caused his death.
The two new drama involves scenes where the main character goes back to their college days. Lee Joon Gi and Song Joong Gi perfectly portrayed the perfect mixture of the college student’s youth and the wise mind of someone who remembers their past lives.
Unfortunately, unlike Lee Joon Gi’s “Again My Life”, Song Joong Ki’s new drama, “Reborn Rich” was allegedly using too much filters to make Song Joong Ki look younger. And the filter use was over the top that it became unbearable for the viewers.
The viewers believed the filter was too much. Song Joong Ki’s skin texture became unrecognizable, and his scenes came out awkwardly compared to the other actors due to the skin correction filters. Eventually, the excessive use of filters broke the viewers’ immersion level.
JTBC Releases Behind-The-Scene Footage of Song Joong Ki New Drama, “Reborn Rich” – The TRUTH Revealed!
Following the skin filter controversy, JTBC released the behind-the-scene footage of Song Joong Ki’s scenes in “Reborn Rich” drama.
In the footage, Song Joong Ki’s unfiltered skin had already looked flawless and glowing in the beginning, just too young for someone born in 1985.
Moreover, there seems to be nothing much of a difference between the drama and the original footage. What makes it apparent is the layer of light filter addition in the drama, which only makes the character look better and just slightly more age-appropriate since Song Joong Ki is playing a 20-year-old character at 37 years of age.
It is possible that filters are involved, but nothing is excessive or overused if you take a look at the behind the scene footage of “Reborn Rich”.
