On May 30, the Korean Business Research Institute released a list of 100 Korean star brand reputation rankings for May 2023. This ranking provides information on the current popularity and brand reputation of Korean celebrities, including entertainers, singers, trot singers, drama actors, movie stars, boy bands, girl bands, and sports figures. Topping the rankings this month is the globally acclaimed phenomenon, BTS, as the most searched Korean star. Find the list of the most popular Korean stars for May 2023 below.
BTS Secured the No. 1 Spot in May 2023 Korean Star Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute has analyzed a dataset of 193,176,055 Korean star brand data collected from April 30 to May 30, 2023. However, compared to the 202,980,845 Korean star data collected in April, the number decreased by 4.83 percent.
In the rankings of the most popular Korean stars for May 2023, BTS claimed the top spot, with Lim Young Woong, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, and FIFTY FIFTY following closely behind in the top five positions.
Top 5 Most Popular Korean Stars
According to the top 100 Korean star brand reputation rankings in May 2023, BTS rose to the first place of popular Korean star with a brand value of 7,240,834. However, compared to the group’s brand value of 8,249,094 in April, it fell 12.22 percent.
Meanwhile, Lim Young Woong dropped to second place with a brand value of 7,163,678, marking a decrease of 14.42 percent from his brand value of 8,370,609 last month.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK remained strong in third place with a brand value of 5,335,363, despite a 30.34 percent decrease in the group’s brand value from 7,659,080 in April.
Furthermore, SEVENTEEN jumped to fourth place with a brand value of 4,364,103, marking an increase of 14.17 percent from the group’s brand value of 3,822,341 in April.
Finally, FIFTY FIFTY rounded out the top five Korean stars with an impressive brand value of 4,272,299 this month. Compared to the brand value of 4,272,299 in April, their popularity has skyrocketed by 42.94 percent since last month.
