Destined With You is an exciting romance Kdrama series written by Noh Ji Sul (known for 100 Days My Prince) and directed by Nam Ki Hoon (known for Tunnel), and featuring talented young cast.
The series is produced by SLL (Studio LuluLala) and C-Jes Studio, renowned for producing numerous popular Kdramas such as The World Of The Married, Doctor Cha, The Beauty Inside, Fight For My Way, and many others.
The plot
Destined With You is an enchanting Korean romance drama that follows the irresistible romance of Jang Shin Yu and Lee Jong Ho. They unexpectedly intertwine when an ancient wooden chest links them. It revealed that the chest holds a forbidden book from 300 years ago, which is the key to breaking an ancestral curse.
The sweet and delightful romance, sparked by the earnest wishes of two people entangled in an unbreakable fate, brings a unique sense of excitement. This new series promises a lovely and moving love story, weaving a tale of love bound by an inseparable fate.

After Netflix revealed the first still cut for the Kdrama Destined With You in January, JTBC unveiled the lead cast members and their characters on June 12.
Jo Bo Ah as Lee Hong Jo
Actress Jo Bo Ah, transforms into Lee Jong Ho, a loner who works as a 9th-level civil servant at Onju City Hall. As a complaint solver civil servant, she faces countless complaints, yet she always gives her best effort to overcome them.
Lee Jong Ho stumbles upon a mysterious ancient wooden chest that contains a forbidden book sealed for 300 years. This enigmatic chest becomes the link that entangles her with Jang Shin Yu, a man burdened by an ancestral curse. Unexpectedly becoming the chest owner, she realizes she holds the key to breaking Jang Shin Yu’s curse.
Jo Bo Ah, who recently made a cameo in Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 Kdrama, expressed her fascination with her role in the drama and shared her thoughts:
“The fresh and intriguing material, along with the character’s charm, captivated me. There were times when I found myself blushing. Filming in such a joyous and harmonious environment, where laughter never ceases among the talented actors, director, writer, and staff, has been delightful. SF9’s Rowoon as Jang Shin Yu
The idol actor Rowoon, who has been featured in many hit Korean dramas, plays the character of Jang Shin Yu. He is a straightforward ace lawyer. He is desperate to end a curse that has haunted his family for generations since the Joseon era. As his strange illness worsens, he seeks assistance from Hong Jo, who owns a mysterious wooden chest. Together, they face unexpected challenges and difficult situations.
Rowoon expressed his excitement about his upcoming character with great enthusiasm. He shared,
“I’m thrilled to portray a character with a unique personality, unlike any I’ve played before. I’m eagerly anticipating this new role, and I hope viewers are as excited as I am.”

Ha Jun as Kwon Jae Kyung
Ha Jun takes on the role of Kwon Jae Kyung. He is a charming individual who is loved by everyone at Onju City Hall. Lee Hong Jo, in particular, develops a crush on him. However, Kwon Jae Kyung seldom unveils his genuine emotions and conceals his scars behind a sweet smile.
Nevertheless, he observes the deepening connection between Lee Hong Jo and Jang Shin Yu, two initially unrelated individuals. As a result, a change of heart starts to emerge within him.
Ha Jun is known for his captivating performances in dramas like Missing The Other Side and Bad Prosecutor. Regarding his collaboration with the production team and fellow actors, he expressed his delight, saying:
“I am happy to work with the talented writer Noh Ji Sul, director Nam Ki Hoon, actress Jo Bo Ah, and actor Rowoon, whom I’ve always admired. And the filming set was fantastic. The drama is my second work with actress Yura, and it was a pleasure to work with her again. The entire cast and crew were incredibly kind. So, I enjoyed leaving for the set every day.”

Completing the main cast is Yura, who portrays the character Yoon Na Yeon, the lover of Jang Shin Yu. However, as her lover develops a special interest in Lee Hong Jo, whom she had bullied in the past, Yoon Na-yeon’s true nature begins to be revealed.
Idol-actress Yura expressed her fascination about the upcoming release and shared,
