Hwasa’s 19+ Rated Performance at Sungkyunkwan University
The singer has been known as one of the K-idols who creates her own standard in terms of appearance and performance. Nevertheless, she should now be more cautious when delivering unconventional performances on stage.
She has been a trending topic for her ‘showing breasts’ performance with her group, MAMAMOO, in Nashville. And now Hwasa is under fire for giving an 19+ rated performance at Sungkyunkwan University.
On May 12, Hwasa performed a medley of MAMAMOO songs and her solo song Don’t. During the performance, Hwasa squatted, opened her legs, and made a gesture of licking her hand and simulating explicit actions.
Although the seductive move done by Hwasa has been cut from the June 22 broadcast of tvN’s Dancing Queens on the Road, the clip has gone viral online. Hwasa is now being investigated by South Korean police for public indecency.
Parent-Student Association Reported Hwasa
According to various media, a parent-student association, Solidarity for Protection of Human Rights of Students and Parents, filed a police report accusing the 27-year-old singer of ‘a lewd act.’
“At Sungkyunkwan University, in a public place where the public can see, she committed an obscene act that has nothing to do with music.”

On July 10, Seongdong Police in Seoul responded to media queries, stating,
“After looking over the incident, we are planning to call in the defendant for an investigation if needed.”

P NATION Briefly Responded
While the performance took place in May when Hwasa was still under RBW, her former agency did not provide any response. Now that Hwasa has signed a contract with P NATION, her new agency briefly commented of her allegedly seductive move.
“We understand that the police are reviewing the case. We are checking the facts internally.”

Hwasa has not only gained viral attention for her provocative move during her performance at Sungkyunkwan University but is also rumored to be dating a businessman who is 12 years older than her. Regarding this matter, P NATION also commented.
“Regarding the recent dating rumors, because they are about the artist’s personal life, it is difficult for us to confirm whether they are true. We ask for your understanding. We apologize.”
