The Korean Business Research Institute has collected 56,039,836 data points from October 11 to November 11, 2023. The focus of this data collection was on Kpop male groups. Using the collected data, they conducted a comprehensive analysis of consumer behavior. This analysis considered consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes to determine the rankings. Compared to October‘s 49,949,476 data points, there was a 12.19% increase in data points. This increase indicates a growing interest and engagement in Kpop male groups.
As a result, Kpop male groups BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT, RIIZE, and EXO dominated the popularity rankings for November 2023.
Top 5 Popular Kpop Boy Groups
1. BTS
BTS continued their reign at the top spot for the 66th consecutive month. They achieved a participation index of 266,808, a media index of 2,212,635, a communication index of 3,055,925, and a community index of 3,637,833. As a result, their brand reputation index for this month reached an impressive 9,173,202. This value marks a remarkable increase of 54.46% from their brand reputation index of 5,938,734 in October.
Notably, BTS’s keyword analysis highlighted phrases such as “Jungkook,” “Billboard,” and “album,” while their related terms included “record,” “sell,” and “award.” The analysis of their positivity-negativity further confirmed their positive image, with a score of 90.98 percent in positive reactions. These findings highlight BTS’s unwavering popularity and ongoing success.
2. SEVENTEEN
Seventeen, who released their 11th mini album, “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,” achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Hanteo record for the highest first-week sales. The group gained a participation index of 423,604, a media coverage index of 1,580,822, a communication index of 1,101,796, and a community index of 2,213,161. As a result, they obtained a brand reputation index of 5,319,383, marking a 16.81% increase compared to October’s index of 4,553,925 and secured the second position this month.
3. NCT
Despite the excitement for their upcoming film “NCT NATION: To The World in Cinemas” in December, NCT slipped to third place this month. Nevertheless, they maintain a strong presence with remarkable indexes. They recorded a participation index of 75,282, media coverage index of 847,937, communication index of 591,609, and community index of 2,115,851. Consequently, their brand reputation index for this month reached an impressive 3,630,678, a 0.57% increase from October’s index of 3,609,941.
4. RIIZE
RIIZE, SM’s newly debuted Kpop boy group, first appeared on the list and secured fourth place. They recorded a participation index of 229,690, a media index of 559,364, a communication index of 871,733, and a community index of 806,010. As a result, the rookie idol group achieved a brand reputation index of 2,466,798.
5. EXO
Kpop boy group EXO dropped to fifth place in the rankings. Despite the drop, EXO’s members like Baekhyun, D.O., and Chanyeol continued to charm fans with their individual projects. The group achieved a participation index of 80,488, a media index of 764,412, a communication index of 592,445, and a community index of 827,621. As a result, their brand reputation index for the month reached 2,264,965, which fell 9.71% from October.
