Idol-actor Jung Jinyoung and Kim Dahyun, also known as Dahyun from the Kpop girl group TWICE, are all set to showcase their sweet first love and enchanting youth romance chemistry in the upcoming Korean remake of the beloved Taiwanese film “You Are the Apple of My Eye.”

On June 10, STUDIO TAKE and Jayuro Pictures, the production companies behind the Korean adaptation of “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” announced that the filming started earlier this month. They also unveiled captivating first-look photos of the main cast.
“You Are the Apple of My Eye” is a famous Taiwanese film from 2011. It was a massive success in Asia, making over 100 million TWD (about 3.2 million USD) in record time. The film has been adapted into Japanese and Thai versions in 2018 and 2023.
The upcoming Korean remake will mark the directorial debut of Cho Young Myoung, with Jung Jinyoung and Kim Dahyun from the Kpop girl group TWICE will play the lead roles.

“You Are the Apple of My Eye” depicts the first love and youthful romance between two students, Jin Woo and Oh Seon Ah, that spans 15 years from their school days.
In the story, idol actor Jung Jinyoung portrays Jin Woo, a carefree teenager known as a troublemaker at school. Among his friends, he claims he has no feelings for a popular student whom everyone likes. However, as the story unfolds, he undergoes personal growth and maturity through his first love experiences.
Furthermore, Dahyun plays the role of Oh Seon Ah, a model student who is shy yet strong-willed, capturing the hearts of everyone. The teacher assigns her to monitor Jin Woo, the troublemaker at school.

Jung Jinyoung, the former leader of the K-pop boy group B1A4, has charmed audiences in various Korean dramas. The actor made his acting debut in 2021 with “The Thousandth Man.” He earned his first leading role in “She is Wow” in 2013. He also made his film debut in 2014 with “Miss Granny.”
Since then, he has starred in hit series such as “Love in the Moonlight” and “Sweet Home Season 2.” His anticipated drama project is “Summer Vacation,” where he will be opposite Cho Yi Hyun of “All of Us Are Dead.”
Furthermore, the much-anticipated Korean remake of the beloved romance will mark Dahyun’s second film. The idol singer is set to make her acting debut in the Korean sports-themed movie, “Sprints.”
Production
According to the report, the film’s production kicked off earlier this month, with a planned release in 2025. Following the casting news, the production has secured pre-sales overseas in eight countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Both Jinyoung and Dahyun are currently in a tight filming schedule.
Jinyoung shared his thoughts as filming began by saying,
“I am thrilled to have been selected for a project that I deeply cherish. I will do my best to deliver the same emotions as the original film.”
