Song Seung Heon: First, I want to thank the audience for their love, which made Season 2 possible. This season, Hari remains committed to gathering his team to punish the bad guys, but his motivations have evolved. In Season 1, Hari was driven by revenge for his father’s death. Now, in Season 2, another incident propels him to seek revenge rather than money. I hope the audience focuses on how Hari continues confronting the bad people with these changes.
Q: What challenges did you face in evolving your character from Season 1 to Season 2, and how did you prepare for this new version of the role?
Song Seung Heon: One of the most memorable characters for me was Damien Lee, a swindler Hari impersonated. To make the character believable as an overseas author, Hari wore various accessories and posed artistically. These details were interesting and added depth to the role. Preparing for Season 2 involved understanding Hari’s new motivations and ensuring that these changes were reflected in his actions and interactions.
Meanwhile, the female cast of “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers,” Oh Yeon Soo expressed her excitement about returning to the screen with an action-packed role, detailing the enjoyable filming atmosphere and the unique challenges, like maintaining her character’s makeup. Oh Yeon Soo: The filming atmosphere was always great, so I enjoyed myself throughout the process. One amusing challenge was remembering to draw the mole on Soo-min’s face during makeup, which was more tedious than I expected (laughs).
Q: How do you prepare for your action-packed scenes or intense moments in the series? Do you have any rituals or techniques to get into character for those high-energy sequences?
Oh Yeon Soo: I was quite nervous since Soo-min is a new character. I thought a lot about how she should interact with the other players and her personality. From the first day, the supportive environment on set helped me get into character. The director, whom we joked was like our primary school teacher, created a nurturing atmosphere that made the experience enjoyable.
Q: What was your first impression of working with Mr. Song?
Oh Yeon Soo: Growing up, I watched Mr. Song on TV, so he was always a star to me. Co-starring with him is an honor and a fascinating experience. He’s very considerate and takes good care of everyone on set. His kindness inspired me to do the same.
