November 2024 Korean Drama Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 71,881,500 brand big data of 16 popular Korean dramas from October 12 to November 12, 2024. They measured the consumer brand participation, communication, media, community, and viewership indexes to obtain the dramas’ brand reputation indexes. However, compared to 85,667,996 Korean drama brand big data in October, the number of the drama brand big data decreased by 16.09 percent.
In previous months, “Good Partner” and “Love Next Door” secured the top Korean drama brand reputation rankings in September and October, respectively. This November, “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,” topped the list, followed by “The Judge from Hell,” “Iron Family,” “Doubt,” and “Love in the Big City.”

1. “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born”
tvN’s “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born,” which revives Korean women’s theater in a TV series, has caught the attention of viewers of all ages, from those who lived through the glory days of Pansori and Gukgeuk in the 1950s and 1960s to young viewers who are familiar with Webtoon.
The first episode of the historical drama series received an average nationwide rating of 4.8 percent. Moreover, the drama’s rating continued to climb; the sixth episode of the series jumped to 13.4 percent. Furthermore, the show took first place in its time slot across all channels in the tenth episode, earning an average nationwide rating of 14.1 percent.
Based on the analysis results by the Korean Business Research Institute, “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” achieved a brand reputation index of 12,088,139, with the following breakdown:
- Participation index: 3,997,951
- Media index: 2,091,412
- Communication index: 2,212,068
- Community index: 2,254,465
- Viewership index: 1,532,243
Furthermore, in the link analysis of this Webtoon turned into a drama, the Institute identified ‘breakthrough,’ ‘passionate,’ and ‘intense’ as the terms most associated with the drama. Meanwhile, in the keyword analysis, the Institute found ‘Kim Tae Ri,’ ‘Korean drama,’ and ‘webtoon’ to be the show’s most popular keywords. Additionally, the show earned a positive score of 92.98 percent in the positive and negative ratio analysis.
2. “The Judge from Hell”
Park Shin Hye’s comeback drama captivated viewers from the first episode to the finale. The drama, which blended elements of law, mystery, and fantasy well, completed its 14 episodes on November 2.
The Friday-Saturday series became the most-watched Korean drama in the first week of November in its time slot. According to Nielsen Korea, its final episode gained an average nationwide rating of 11.9 percent. Based on the analysis by the Korean Business Research Institute, the series achieved a brand reputation index of 9,696,058, with the following breakdown:
- Participation index: 3,489,797
- Media index: 1,099,296
- Communication index: 713,080
- Community index: 2,923,425
- Viewership index: 1,470,459
3. “Iron Family”
KBS2’s rom-com drama “Iron Family” rose to third position this month. The series became the most-watched show in the Saturday-Sunday slot in the first week of November. According to the Korean Business Research Institute, the series achieved a brand reputation index of 8,873,198, with the following indexes:
- Participation Index: 1,699,487
- Media Index: 1,584,273
- Communication Index: 1,575,676
- Community Index: 2,024,318
- Viewership Index: 1,989,445
4. “Doubt”
MBC’s K-drama “Doubt,” which keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, claimed fourth place. Based on the analysis by the Korean Business Research Institute, the series achieved a brand reputation index of 6,606,582, with the following breakdown:

5. “Love in the Big City”
Finally, the K-drama series “Love in the Big City” concluded the top five popular Korean dramas this month. First aired on October 21, the boys’ love-themed series gained viewers’ attention in several regions. Based on the analysis, the series achieved a brand reputation index of 5,822,803, with the following breakdown:
- Participation Index: 1,600,558
- Media Index: 1,232,545
- Communication Index: 1,227,563
- Community Index: 909,996
